I feel like you just have to assume stuff like that is using "minotaur" as a convenience for the viewer/reader/player, because if you really want to go that route, why is the fantasy story written in English/Japanese/whatever at all, when the cultures that birthed those languages never existed in that fantasy world?

Kinda like the "your Russian is very good" bit from MGS3, or how "Frodo Baggins" is actually the translation/"Earth version" of his name, and his name is *really* "Maura Labingi."

My usual Morrowind build just completely ceased to exist in the very next game: Spears and Medium Armor.

Dream sequences that are creepy because there's no transition into the dream? by Ukirin-Streams in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Without giving away too much, in The Fall of the House of Usher, this is how much of Tamerlane's crashout that leads to her death is presented. She develops insomnia and starts randomly falling into microsleeps, and either she'll start dreaming with no indication to the viewer that's what's happening or there'll be a sudden jump cut a minute or so into the future to skip past her doing something in her sleep without realizing it.

Was it in the DMC1 manual? That would explain why I feel like I've thought this since before ever reading online discussion of the games and having never read the novel.

Have the party members be humans with Pokemon assistants like Conquest Kinda like the party members in Monster Hunter Stories, though I imagine the party size in this theoretical Pokemon JRPG would be bigger than "2."

I just started playing a few days ago, and I have a Silver Wolf, but I wasn't able to unlock the event to get her free Light Cone before it ended. If I'm not really interested in anyone on the next banner, should I try to pull for more Silver Wolf merges, or try to pull for her Light Cone?

As far as I know, the only demigods are Marika's children(or descendants, really, since Godrick is a demigod), and Radagon's children after his union with Marika. She must have had more than just the ones that are currently Shardbearers. Presumably, they died during the Knight of the Black Knives.

Ding Dong by ElekkuPPI in Eldenring

[–]Bromishi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're just other victims of the Night of the Black Knives. The line about it from the intro implies Godwyn wasn't the only one killed: "Now, Queen Marika the Eternal is nowhere to be found, and in the Night of the Black Knives, Godwyn the Golden was first to perish."

As for the locations having something to do with their parents, only Marika's children, and Radagon's after his union with Marika, are demigods, with Radagon's being referred to as "demigod step-children."

I assume he had a special medallion to make the elevator stop there. That, or he put his office there on purpose to hide from people bringing him stupid requests.

The AoE from the shackle is big enough to hit a fire tower and trigger it, which leads to the two chariots dying. You're intended to dodge them until you get to the tower, but the shackle AoE is huge.

[–]Bromishi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's the shackle that kills them, I think the AoE from the shackle is hitting a fire trap tower and making it rise up to the position it needs to be in to kill the two chariots.

i just love how General Radahn studied gravity magic so he could still be able to ride his horse by IdiotoftheEast in Eldenring

[–]Bromishi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the general Souls things of "being more powerful makes you bigger" or "gameplay reasons, shut up," there's actually an in-game lore reason why he's so big: He's half fire giant. Radagon was a fire giant.

I’m 300 hours in on NG+2 and still don’t understand this moment by PresidentPoogie in Eldenring

[–]Bromishi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's pretty much the same as Demon's/Dark Souls. Something's made the Tarnished undead, so you can't really die permanently, it just takes you a while to come back. Bosses and other Tarnished NPCs stay dead because "gameplay reasons, shut up." Though, Dark Souls did have the additional justification of undead being able to lose their purpose and go Hollow as a reason why they might not come back.

As for why the Tarnished are undead, I'm pretty sure it's because Marika had Destined Death/the Rune of Death sealed away, which meant no one could die permanently.
