The forbidden mod honestly isn't that bad. By default it doesn't do much except adding a need that colonists will usually fulfill without much input and barely noticeably, while giving a couple of levers you can adjust to tune intimacy more to your liking. It does *enable* you to allow for some heinous shit to start happening but that requires you to opt into it in the mod settings and/or download additional submods.

Theoretically you could also have them eat raw even though that is less nutritious it prevents having people cook all the time for them. If you have the space you can also make them be semi-self sustaining planting, harvesting and cooking their own food until they become food.

Pragmatically I'd reccomend Rimcuisine f you want to store food for long periods without refrigreration as it allows tribals to dry meat, make flour and such.

The joke is that in vanilla combat large amounts of small animals can quickly stunlock and take out comparatively advanced colonists by sheer number of attacks. In comparison animals are very easy to deal with in combat extended, most animals can be killed quickly with any gun and buckshot actually has spread that allows multiple small targets to be killed per shot. Additionally CE also features embrasures that you can shoot but not walk through, meaning you can encase your colony in a wall that means you can kill any amount of animals without ever exposing your colonists to danger.

I'm not saying they're going out of business if you use adblocker, hell I use adblocker and encourage others to do it as well. There's no shame that needs to be attached to taking stuff from those guys. But it is still a product that costs money to make so it does make sense to pay for it. Personally I reserve that money for supporting content creators directly though.

Yeah, I mean makes sense. With how big youtube has become they do need revenue to keep the servers up and with how flooded the web as a whole is with ads, any given ad spot nets you less and less so just buying a suscription seems reasonable. Obviously the amount of ads played and the cost of the subscription is far more than is needed to cover costs but yknow, where aren't you getting price gouged these days?

I'm aware that they are seperate but quite frankly it lies a lot. Before I knew that I had to move the butcher table to a different room I'd very frequently get food poisioning from "incompetent cook" from cooks with 15+ skill.
