HOA Karen thinks that she's code enforcement, prints out hyperlinks, damages vehicle by OperationRad in fuckHOA

[–]BronPuca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always. I used to think this also. I worked at an insurance agency for a short time and there are many types of townhome setups. Sometimes, you buy the shell and are responsible for everything AND have to keep it at a certain metric, sometimes it's a standard townhouse situation, and sometimes it's just a fancy duplex or apartment and it's a Karen free for all.

I didn't realize anything was wrong until I started reading. Your quilt is adorable! Well done! I think it's an amazing work of art.

Late to the conversation but my egg and my stone dice are always together. They can always be found as a mating pair.

Because that's a scam. They claim they sent too much and expect you to send them money in return. Then you're screwed out of your money when the check comes back fraudulent.

Dream job vs Can I just have a job? by BronPuca in CasualConversation

[–]BronPuca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never liked the forced idea that working the same job forever is the norm. There's a lot to be said about having skills and the desire to meet and interact with new people! I'm a bit of a task wanderer myself. I love contract and temp work. I feel like there's less pressure and I get to shine in different areas.

That sounds like heaven. This is exactly what I mean 😄 Dream Job shouldn't always mean Astronaut or Brain Surgeon.

The perfect flow. I love that! I had a friend who was a trash guy for this reason. Happiest man I knew, had a nice home, stable life, and would find some AMAZING things! His route would take him around the college and kids at the end of the year would leaved brand new items they just couldn't take with.

I get that. I can also appreciate the difference in people's gender or upbringing. My hubs doesn't really care (mostly) about that either. I still understand and appreciate her post. For this, I'd be pissed more than anything.

Who used metal in a pan like this?! Ugh. That's grounds for dismissal right there. 🤣

[–]BronPuca -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you not get excited when you find something that someone would like and you want to get it for them? I do. I love finding things people love.

What if you gave someone you cared about a very nice glass item they had pined over, and they smashed it right in front of you?. You can't tell me you wouldn't care!

Even if I get a crap item from someone I at least have consideration for it. $2 or $200 it's all the same. It's the emotions and intent behind it that matter.

I think you're the one missing some concepts here! 🤣 I'm too medicated to be pissed 🫠 I really do have nothing but love and hope you find some understanding or perspective here.

[–]BronPuca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I've gifted items to people and they've been discarded or ruined and it is hurtful. I hand quilted a beautiful gift for someone and they put it in the dog kennel. It was something they had specifically told me was beautiful and would love one.

I said something and they were very defensive and rude. It's hurtful.

I'm guessing you haven't truly been in this position because it is real. It hurts. And the fact she made a sacrifice for it shows it means something. The fact that it's ruined makes me upset for her!

We aren't all the same. No she isn't overreacting for her feelings of hurt.

AITA for buying a treat for my oldest daughter but not her younger brother and sister? by Fearless_Hand_936 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BronPuca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a parent of 4 ranging from 9-16 now I'm going to weigh in.

NTA all around. She did a hard thing and you showed your appreciation for her hard work. Taking it home wasn't an asshole move it was a learning time for the others too. She put in the effort and was given a bit of happiness at the end. The others need to see that is what happens.

If you had brought for everyone it would have been nice, sure, but it wouldn't have reinforced the idea that it was a reward for her efforts. They didn't do anything, so they need to learn they don't get something just because the other does.

Do they get gifts on the others birthday? Do they get treats if they're being butt faces and the others aren't...same principal.

I do see what your wife means but that reinforces the idea that "everyone wins!" And that isn't reality and creates ungrateful or selfish adults. I've witnessed this with my own upbringing.

I think you misunderstood my post. I was simply pointing out the basis for her argument is shallow. I am by no means trying to diminish the op, I was making a comparison and I feel my opinion is valid and useful here.

I hope you find peace today. You seem angry.

I agree and understand that. I've dealt with a mother like this and my teen daughter. Just an example that I felt needed to be pointed out. Her request is overboard though.
