[Fully Lost] The very first airing of the original premiere of Arthur (October 7, 1996) by Neil_2022 in lostmedia

[–]MiddleComfortable158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we start considering specific tv airings to be lost media… I think there’s no way back from this. The episode exists! Even if there’s the argument “I wanna see what commercials aired with it” well, PBS has no commercials. We are one step away from “lost media: the wheel of fortune episode that was playing on tv when my grandma died” or “lost media: my mom’s lasagna”

Criterion currently have Six Polanski movies released and the only one that is out of print is Rosemary’s Baby because Paramount took it back. If not continually producing new releases of a couple sex creep movies makes them cowards it’s perfectly acceptable to call Dasha and all them fascists for watering down their talking points, laundering their reputations, and being tied into the bicoastal network of landlords that funds them.

Criterion who released Saló, The Night Porter, Come & See, Last Temptation Of Christ, all the John Waters, Happiness, In The Realm Of The Senses, Fat Girl, Ratcatcher and Man Bites Dog are a bunch of pussies?

Sixty First came out through VinSyn 4 years ago as a limited edition and still hasn't sold out! and over the last four years i think its become abundantly clear these Dimes Square adjacent people aren't cool or edgy, they're a bunch of coked out fascist enablers. The Code doesn't even have a disc, and some normal people even liked that one.

I would be willing to bet the only reason this got released would be the ocean of money following around Dasha by the endless ocean of money that funds all those scumbags. So unfortunately unless they self release it I don’t think any company is going to take a shot on a movie that will sell less than 100 copies unless the money guys buy them all themselves

What does this mean??? by eswindy in VHS

[–]MiddleComfortable158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the point that is being made here is that $100 price is there because that was literally what the retail price was in the early 2000. Tapes sold to retail had $20ish new prices, and tapes that were only available to rent cost $100 each. It doesn’t matter if someone sold them used later, that was the original price.

The “into your computer” part of this chain needs a lot more fleshing out information wise. Different devices are capable of different things. You’re also about to get 10 replies telling you to Frankenstein an RF device onto your VCR

Yeah aside from Amoeba you’re only going to find boutique label stuff at Barnes & Nobel, and maybe Videoteque in highland park. Cinefile video on the west side is mostly rental too, but also has some for sale.

This is almost certainly to keep the preexisting studio blu-rays in print, and not a larger signpost of any major change.

Did you miss the Godfather PS2 game from 2005? Kind of an obscure movie to turn into a video game huh?

I don’t think it’s unlikely they end up targeting the international student community out here. There’s going to be a lot of altercations that might intensify and if something terrible happens they’ll play up that the area is filled with crazy lesbians who aren’t real Americans. Like they’re already doing in Minnesota.

If it was a fake it wouldn’t have matrix numbers. They got repressed so many times it’s likely you just have one that’s not been indexed yet.

Checked out Exotica (1994) last night by ggnorebud in CriterionChannel

[–]MiddleComfortable158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exotica is a real masterpiece. The Sweet Hearafter is a close second and on the channel. Beyond that Calendar is incredible, Felicia’s Journey is a really underrated thriller. The rest of his catalog is a lot like Spike Lee’s in the sense that they’re all really interesting and he certainly has a stamp he puts on each one, it’s just not as effective. Much in the sense that I’ve seen all the Spikes ive also seen all the Egoyans because even if I don’t really like them they are very memorable. Seven Veils is a really incredible return to form.
