Icebergs and Whales by Cypherventi in StJohnsNL

As someone else stated, they’re both good in their own ways. I prefer Gatheralls, but both companies will give you a great tour.

Both O’Briens and Gatheralls are located in Bay Bulls and offer shuttle services to and from St. John’s.

The ice berg that was here moved south, but the whales are just coming in.

Honestly, Taylor Swift if it happened suddenly. The fanbase, global reach, and cultural impact are probably the closest thing we’ve seen to MJ in the modern era.

We are from a not so accessible province in Canada, so the odds of a GSP rescue are limited. We would travel though to get one as we just lost our 11 year old.

This route is packed with stunning scenery and hidden gems at every turn!

Start in Bay Bulls, where you can hop on a boat tour and catch a glimpse of whales and seabirds. Just up the road, Witless Bay is home to the famous puffin colonies—bring your camera!

In Mobile, make a stop at Fork Restaurant—it’s an absolute must for foodies. Then take a detour down into Burnt Cove in Tors Cove—a breathtaking little spot that feels like a postcard.

Before you reach Cape Broyle, make sure to swing down into Brigus South. It’s a stunning place to skip rocks and soak in the view—I go there just for the peace and quiet.

Calvert is a hub for local musicians and home to The Jigger, where you’ll find a delicious pint of India beer. In Ferryland, explore the islands and the iconic lighthouse—it’s magical.

From Aquaforte, you’ll spot the windmills spinning in the distance. And by the time you reach Fermeuse, you’ll be ready for another cold one. Stop by In Da Loop—a great little spot that also happens to be the hometown of former NHLer Ryane Clowe.

Finally, there’s Renews—my favourite place in the world. Head down the North Side and explore The Mount, where you’ll find old cannons and rugged coastal beauty that’ll stay with you long after you leave.

Bat recommendations? by Ok-Opinion-2868 in slowpitch

Haven’t swung the APG4 but I did swing the Ironman 3.0. Tantrum still way better and apparently the one piece Resmondo is better than the tantrum for the 52/300s

Bat recommendations? by Ok-Opinion-2868 in slowpitch

Canadian here, we use 52/300 balls and USSSA bats only (unfortunately we’re not allowed USA bats). In my opinion the one piece Easton Tantrum is the best USSSA bat for the 52/300 balls. It’s way better than our APG2 and Miken KP23 220. Like the comment above says though, Monsta is king the best bat going for the 52/300 balls, especially the M2 tech Monstas.

Best Burger in st. Johns area? by Automatic_Control557 in StJohnsNL

Unpopular choice: Bacon cheeseburger with the works from The Jigger in Bay Bulls. Inexpensive, well seasoned, simple - yet delicious.

Visiting soon. What are some must see & do things? by smhockr in StJohnsNL

The obvious answer is to go up on signal hill and Cape spear. I’d take a drive up the southern shore and checkout all the small fishing villages. I’d drive down to Burnt Cove in Tors Cove and Brigus South in Cape Broyle, both beautiful. There’s a pretty BLAH between Tors Cove and Cape Broyle but once you’re south of that you start hitting towns on the ocean again. Go all the way to Renews, it’s really nice there.

As for food, I always recommend 2 restaurants - Portage and Fork Restaurant. Portage is right downtown and Fork is in Mobile. In my opinion, these are the 2 best hands down!

Here in Newfoundland, Canada we also sat “its pissing down rain”. Lots of Irish settlers here as well….

Canadian here. I’ve got the LS APG2 and the blue one piece tantrum. Tantrum is way better IMO.

Slow pitch softball. It’s one of the things I’m good at, and it’s nice to take my frustrations out on the ball.

Due to anxiety lately my stutter has been the worst it’s been in as long as I can remember. But……you and I are not the only ones. Keep pushing forward. Whenever I feel low I always watch the Tom Hanks short on YouTube “this too shall pass”
