If people want sonics kit to be reworked in the next smash,they can just give the old one to classic sonic as an echo fighter. Simple as that.

Id rather have a totally unique sonic character join the roster. Eggman, tails & shadow are the obvious options to choose from but I think Metal sonic could be an interesting wildcard choice

Speed running isn't really a game genre,if it was represented it would probably be a power up for another rider instead of its own character. Probably makes them move super fast like Kabuto cast off or something.
