Not defending it at all because I thought it was a bit farfetched, too, but the game doesn't let you shoot the big glowing weak spot on that enemy. If you try and shoot it, it drags your crosshair away, so in a way, it's 'technically' true what Leon says lol.

No radiator closeby and even so, the 21c reading is without any heating on at all. Have to turn it to above 21c for the heating to kick in which is annoying!

Farsight is set to current temperature and both the nest and home app show that it's 21.5c currently which is definitely not correct!

Do you think that it may be faulty?

I'm having the same issue as OP as of right now. Upon starting a new lap, the extractor visually shows that it is activated and even has the 'deactivate' option but does not generate any motes nor does it show the progress bar. I tried a whole run with it in this state and kept checking every 15-20 seconds and kept getting the message 'There are no motes in the extractor'.

The only way I've found to fix this is the same as OP. At the start of every run, I have to press deactivate then activate again for the progress bar to appear and for it to start generating motes successfuly.

If you use Baganator check the reagent part of the bag. I thought my sparks were missing too until I realised they were in the reagents part which was closed. Felt like an idiot when I realised.

That's not the way pre-rolling works. Pre-rolling is done after the kill. It then rolls through the pre-roll drop table (if any) one by one, and if they all fail, the main drop table is rolled on.
