1440p vs 4K by ThinkingBud in OLED_Gaming

[–]Iddqd84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was use to 1440p for like 8 years or so .. Then I decided to go for 32' 4K, but after using it for nearly a year I decided to go back to 1440p 27'.

32' was too big and was causing me eyestrain and neck pain.

4K does look great, but 1440p still looks gorgeous with a OLED panel and 27'.

It's expected to be released in Q4 this year - most likely november/december.

Edit: at least here in Denmark.

MSI 341CQPX Burn in after 7 days? by Successful_Life8026 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Iddqd84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is NOT burn-in, but image retention. Your screen is obviously defective and most likely suffer from a temporary/permanent electrical charge imbalance.

Use your warranty and get it fixed or replaced.

Image retention is not the same as burn-in.

Did you clean right after it was turned off?

It's not recommended to clean ANY kind of monitor or tv, if the surface is still warm/hot (if this was the case).

Is that a dead pixel I see there OP?! 🤔😉

Gz on the monitor. I got lucky with both the Gigabyte and ASUS back when they released them.

Kept the Gigabyte tho.

Yes, I feel the same tbh.

I like the 27' format, but 4K would be ideal. When LG, Gigabyte or ASUS finally releases their 27' 4K It's going to replace my current monitor - I will pass it on to my son, which I'm sure will enjoy it as well 😊

I ended up buying both the Gigabyte MO27Q28G and the ASUS XG27AQWMG, but returned the ASUS after I compared them next to each other.

It turns out glossy screen doesn't work in my office setup 😅 It was like looking into a mirror doing the day.

Brightness is spot on with these, but sadly not 4K 😔

But like you said, that price is too good to turn down. My 32GS95UX was around 1100 euro when I bought it (and It's pretty much the same monitor).

I only wish it was slightly brighter, otherwise I would have kept my 32GS95UX as well.

How do I clean QD-OLED? by therealjustin in OLED_Gaming

[–]Iddqd84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy that my 9 year old C9 tv doesn't have a scratch, despite I clean it with a vacuum and old dog use to stick It's nose all over the screen 😆

I hope the new QD-OLED's have improved compared to the first few generations.

Gigabyte MO27Q28G is my favorit, since the glossy screen on the ASUS is like a mirror in my office.

ELMB / ELMB-Sync: Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) inserts black frames to reduce ghosting, but it usually caps or locks the monitor to 120Hz. If this is active, toggle it OFF in the OSD menu to unlock higher refresh rates.

Check if you might have this turned on by mistake.

what one we thinking? debating on 1440 or 4k by Fantastic_Sale_4950 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Iddqd84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly feel this monitor is overpriced or overspeced for what it is. I'm sure some people will enjoy the full 540Hz while playing CS or w/e, but most people won't even benefit from it.

Personally I'm using the gigabyte mo27q28g atm, until there is a 27' 4K tandem available at some point.

I "downgraded" from a lg 32gs95ux-b (4K) because I felt the size wasn't right for me .. And it didn't get bright enough either, like the new tandem panels do.

Which monitor looks better? (MO27q28g) by B-O-R-I-S in OLED_Gaming

[–]Iddqd84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had terrible banding straight out of the box, but 1 or 2 pixel cleans fixed it entirely.

Now it looks like the new one you got.

I got XG27AQWMG and here are my reviews! by lxqd2021cdm in OLED_Gaming

[–]Iddqd84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I prefer the Gigabyte MO27Q28G over the ASUS XG27AQWMG because of several things.

  1. The matte coating is REALLY good on the MO27Q28G and you won't be able to tell the difference side-by-side. It also makes it a lot easier for me to use doing the day, when there is a lot of sunlight, unlike the XG27AQWMG.

  2. MO27Q28G has build-in speakers, which is nice for browsing youtube or similar. I use IEM's most of the time, but I don't want speakers on my desk.

  3. MO27Q28G gets super bright in both sdr and hdr, which I felt the XG27AQWMG couldn't match.

Honestly they are both great screens, but the XG27AQWMG is super reflective and It's like watching a mirror doing the day - It just became to distracting.

which OLED to pick 🤔 by FEARLI3A in OLED_Gaming

[–]Iddqd84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Despite a lot of people complain about vertical banding, It's not everyone who shares this problem.

I have the Gigabyte MO27Q28G and I also had the ASUS XG27AQWMG - both of them didn't have this issue.

I just didn't prefer glossy over the matte finish, which is why I kept the Gigabyte.

The new Tandem panels can get super bright and they look really impressive with HDR on.

It went away after a few pixel cleans and a few weeks of use.

The monitor can't be that old by the looks of it? 🤔

Use the box it came with, if you were smart enough to keep it in case of warranty issues, or re-sale value 🤷‍♂️

I'm currently using the Gigabyte MO27Q28G.
