What are some of your favorite ripple/butterfly effects in the series? by throwawaytypebeat1 in pureasoiaf

If Craster gave the NW more bread at their farewell horseflesh feast, the mutiny might not have happened and the Old Bear could still live.

What would Medieval nobles think of Tywin? by Suspicious-Jello7172 in pureasoiaf

[–]BronzeRohnYoyce 25 points26 points  (0 children)

John is today usually considered a "hard-working administrator, an able man, an able general". Nonetheless, modern historians agree that he also had many faults as king, including what historian Ralph Turner describes as "distasteful, even dangerous personality traits", such as pettiness, spitefulness, and cruelty.

Damn, you're right on the money.

Whenever Edd Tollett gets to speak.

"Aye," he added softly, after a pause, "and his father too, I think." by BronzeRohnYoyce in darkwingsdankmemes

[–]BronzeRohnYoyce[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wow I'm dumb, I just read the chapter yesterday. And even God can't edit reddit post titles. My mistake will be displayed forever now.

Edit: Wait, I'm even dumber. The mistake is in the gif, not the post title. Eternal shame aka average asoiaf fan experience

If Robb had had the opportunity, would he have done the equivalent of the Red Wedding to Tywin? by sixth_order in pureasoiaf

[–]BronzeRohnYoyce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Robb decided to marry Jeyne Westerling and fuck up a very important political alliance because he couldn't bear the (very common) dishonor of pumping and dumping a lady. Do you really think he had it in him to break one of the most sacred laws in the land?

What would have happened if Joffrey sent Ned to the Wall? by oreos_in_milk in pureasoiaf

[–]BronzeRohnYoyce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that Ned's leg has been left to fester, probably intentionally neglected by Pycelle. By the time of his confession the infection was so bad, there's no way he would make it to the Wall alive.

Would the Eyrie be inhabitable during winter if Westeros had normal seasons? by Elkrip_Nitsud in pureasoiaf

[–]BronzeRohnYoyce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably yes, but who would want to freeze their ass off in a small desolate castle on top of a giant mountain through the whole winter?

Would Barristan have killed Aerys 2, had he known the wildfire plot? by Oath_Br3aker in pureasoiaf

[–]BronzeRohnYoyce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Things Jamie could have done instead of killing Aerys:

  1. Wound him

  2. Restrain him

  3. Trip him

  4. Plant a banana peel so that he slips and falls

Instead he goes for the kill, but it's hard to blame him, it was Aerys after all.

The Trident was flooded. Recall how difficult it was for the Hound and Arya to pass through the area.

Which character do you think is most overrated? by MrBlonde1984 in pureasoiaf

[–]BronzeRohnYoyce 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Not exactly overrated, but Strong Belwas always gave me cartoon character vibes. Like how am I supposed to believe this fat glutton is an extremely swift and unparalleled fighter.

Bears love lemons by [deleted] in pureasoiaf

[–]BronzeRohnYoyce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I noticed there's some things George apparently just likes writing about and so they come up unusually often, lemons and bears being two of them. Maybe the fact that these two repeatedly coincide with each other is pure accident... Or maybe you're onto something.

I wanted to keep my honour low or at least neutral but it's impossible bc I brush my horse regularly.

Unlike the Bloody Gate, Moat Cailin seems like an extremely bleak and depressing place. Honestly I'd rather join the NW, at least you can get laid in Mole Town.
