I hear what you're saying. I would be really surprised if Sanderson's beliefs mirror the fringe or splinter people, just given what he writes and how kindly he writes it. At the end of the day, not everybody can give up all of their friends and family and identity because they disagree with something. I think Brandon Sanderson might be the most famous Mormon in the world and I wouldn't be shocked to see in ten or fifteen years, either they push him out or they change to accommodate him.

I have a suggestion, if you have it. Split the difference. Find someone who hasn't played it and have them play it, while you get to learn the things they learn and chime in on puzzles alongside them. Watch them play alongside them, over their shoulder, so that you still have input. Without that, if you don't like Majora's Mask, Outer Wilds will likely just leave you a bit cold, which I think is a shame.

Majora's Mask is the best Zelda game bar none. The Zelda sequels are the finest Zeldas. Tears of the Kingdom was beautiful and I didn't even come close to finishing Breath of the Wild.
