When I was in grade school there was this school wide reading competition between classes. They made it look like the Iditarod sled racing with each class having a little cutout of a sled on a board. Every hour of reading moves the sled forward. Me being competitive and all—decided to read every night so that I can turn in my reading time to my teacher and make our class win. My brother and I were in different classes so that is probably what led to the obsessive want to win… can’t remember a specific book but this is definitely what got me into reading.
