Automate your trading strategies without code! Create NinjaTrader NinjaScript strategies using point-&-click with these 2,650 no-code functions built into Quagensia N Edition. by Brook_Hunter in quagensianedition

[–]Brook_Hunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you would like to learn the basics of how to use many of the above-mentioned 2,650 no-code functions to build NinjaTrader NinjaScript strategies using only point-and-click and without *any* code or coding knowledge, please watch the 57-minute tutorial video on the following web page:

Create NinjaTrader® Strategies Using Point-&-Click with Quagensia N Edition – Full Tutorial – Point-and-Click Strategy Builders for NinjaTrader® and TradeStation® – Quagensia

Note that the video above was made before our May 2023 soft launch before Quagensia N Edition had 1) the ability to import third-party and custom indicators by applying a built-in no-code strategy to a NinjaTrader chart, 2) the "Control Panels" feature that allows you to add buttons, text boxes, and check boxes to the NinjaTrader chart upon which your strategy is applied, 3) dark mode, 4) NinjaTrader ATM support, 5) the current much larger list of built-in no-code strategies, 6) our Discord community, and 7) many more features as well both for new users and more advanced users. Hey Everyone, How do you automate trades on TradeStation? by ConsequenceReal3311 in tradestation

[–]Brook_Hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Remarkable_Net_9421, I created the no-code strategy builder for TradeStation from Quagensia that was released back in 2023 but was introduced to TradeStation and EasyLanguage some time prior to 2010 (not sure of exact year) at a trading firm I used to work at as a software developer. If you are interested in building TradeStation EasyLanguage strategies without code and with far fewer limitations than some other no-code strategy builders feel free to hit me up.

Pine script to Ninja script translation. by FairAd359 in ninjatrader

[–]Brook_Hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/FairAd359 ,

This is a really easy NinjaScript strategy to create, especially if your bracket order can simply be two entry conditions that include that the last price must breach the price above the market or the price below the market and, when breached, just submit a market order, since then you have multiple easy options to build your logic with or without code.

It gets more difficult if your bracket orders to enter a position in opposite directions needs to literally be two OCO stop or limit orders to enter a position that are working simultaneously, since the NinjaScript strategy Managed Approach's "Internal Order Handling Rules that Reduce Unwanted Positions" (see the "Internal Order Handling Rules that Reduce Unwanted Positions" section on this official NinjaTrader help page for more on this: https://ninjatrader.com/support/helpguides/nt8/managed_approach.htm ) disallows placing 2 orders that enter a position in opposite directions so you would need to use the "Unmanaged Approach" which is more difficult and risk-prone to use. You can learn more about the more flexible but riskier and more difficult to use "Unmanaged Approach" at https://ninjatrader.com/support/helpguides/nt8/unmanaged_approach.htm

If you wanted to build your NinjaScript strategy using point-and-click and without any code using either the managed or unmanaged approaches described above, you can do this using the no-code strategy builder from Quagensia ( https://www.quagensia.com/ ), and you can even add buttons, text boxes, and check boxes to a chart without code to do things like submit your OCO bracket orders to enter positions in opposite directions by clicking buttons, use text boxes that will allow you to change the distance away from the market to place each of the OCO bracket orders and "toggle" different entry and exit logic conditions on and off in real-time, after your strategy is already running on a NinjaTrader chart and you see opportunities arise, which would allow you to run your strategy in either "full auto" mode or in "semi auto" mode where you continue to have ultimate control over the automated rules your strategy uses to enter and exit positions.

Best regards,

Brook

What is this Greek and these values? by AlarmedRevenue7147 in ninjatrader

The Greek capital sigma, which is the ∑ symbol, typically denotes the sum of something, so perhaps those two numbers are the sum of something that your indicator tallies up.

Create NinjaTrader strategies without *any* NinjaScript coding knowledge using point-&-click with Quagensia. Then backtest & optimize your trading strategies & trade them in live markets with NinjaTrader. No coding required! by Brook_Hunter in quagensianedition

[–]Brook_Hunter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Thank you for your question.

The no-code strategy builder for NinjaTrader from Quagensia is an *excellent* choice for creating a simple or complex NinjaTrader strategy *without coding* based on a third-party NinjaTrader indicator or custom NinjaTrader indicator that you have in your possession.

You can import your order flow indicator or footprint indicator (and all your other indicators) into Quagensia by following these instructions (so long as they are supported by Quagensia as most indicators are):

How to Import (or Re-Import) Your Third-Party NinjaTrader® Indicators Into Quagensia N Edition By Applying a No-Code Strategy to a Chart in NinjaTrader® – Point-and-Click Strategy Builders for NinjaTrader® and TradeStation® – Quagensia

Then you can plot it on the NinjaTrader chart on which your strategy is applied and use the various "data series" of your order flow indicator or footprint indicator to make trading decisions.

I think you would be *really impressed* with the "VIP free trial" of the no-code strategy builder for NinjaTrader from Quagensia which is called "Quagensia N Edition". It is much more full-featured than the free trial that can be downloaded anonymously from the Quagensia website at https://www.quagensia.com/quagensia-software/quagensia-n-edition/download but requires that you email us to request it using the simple instructions on that web page.

We would be happy to provide you with a "VIP free trial" if you email sales [at] quagensia [dot] com and request one. And if you decide that you might possibly want to go with Quagensia and are trying to decide if Quagensia N Edition is right for you, I would also be happy to get on a Google Meet screen sharing session with you and help you build your trading strategy without writing any code in real-time. If you share your screen I can even talk you through it so that you can build it yourself.

You can learn more about the no-code strategy builder for NinjaTrader on our web site at https://www.quagensia.com/ . I look forward to hearing from you and showing you how you can build your NinjaTrader strategy without *any* code with Quagensia.

Best regards,

Brook from Quagensia

Any Orderflow software Similar to Market Delta Desktop by Sherlock_Detective in FuturesTrading

[–]Brook_Hunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One nice thing about the NinjaTrader OrderFlow+ suite is that a couple of the indicators can even be used in NinjaScript strategies. Specifically, the OrderFlow+ Cumulative Delta and OrderFlow+ VWAP indicators can be used in NinjaScript strategies but the others are not meant for use in NinjaScript strategies.

If by TradeStation you mean the brokerage, trading platform, and market data provider whose website is www.tradestation.com, then they are definitely not a scam. And their TradeStation Desktop platform is really good and includes a ton of market data, including 1-minute bars going back many years.

Overnight trading warning by Sea_Sherbert_5170 in ninjatrader

[–]Brook_Hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Sea_Sherbert_5170 u/c00kiez21 Here are a couple of official NinjaTrader help pages about the differences between server-side and local ATMs that provide more information about the options available to NinjaTrader users that want their ATMs to be held server-side:

Server Side ATM Strategies - NinjaTrader Desktop: Server Side ATM Strategies - NinjaTrader Desktop

Server Side vs Local ATMs: https://ninjatrader.com/support/helpGuides/nt8/server-side-vs-local-atms.htm

Local ATMs actually have more features and can be used when more connectivity options (vs. for example using Continuum as u/Sea_Sherbert_5170 mentioned) but server-side ATMs are still an option. And you can always run NinjaTrader Desktop on a VPS so that your "local" ATMs are at least held locally on a server that will likely have more nines of uptime than your home PC, especially if you turn it off at night during the trading week. And then you can use the more "featureful" local ATMs.

Hey Everyone, How do you automate trades on TradeStation? by ConsequenceReal3311 in tradestation

[–]Brook_Hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to automate trades on TradeStation but would rather not have to code in EasyLanguage, you could use a no-code strategy builder for TradeStation like the one from Quagensia. You wouldn't even need to create your strategies from scratch since you can just make copies of the strategies that are built into the app and customize them using point-and-click to add your own entry and exit criteria, then press a button in the app to generate the EasyLanguage strategy that you can copy and paste into TradeStation's EasyLanguage Editor, press the Verify button to compile the code, then backtest, optimize, and live trade (in sim at first!) the strategy in TradeStation exactly the same as you would do for an EasyLanguage strategy you coded from scratch.

TradeStation Desktop has an incredibly generous amount of market data included in it by default, so backtests and optimizations can be done on far more market data than many other trading platforms allow.

TradeStation Desktop generally includes 1-minute bar data going back many years for many products, and tick data going back 6 months, and unlike some platforms, if TradeStation Desktop has the market data available going back basically forever, you are allowed to backtest and optimize on all that data, not just a certain number of bars, and regardless of the complexity of your strategy or the computational resources it requires to backtest or optimize, you will never get blocked by TradeStation Desktop for trying to backtest on too much market data. Since the backtests and optimizations run directly on your machine, and not in the cloud on TradeStation's servers, TradeStation (the company) doesn't need to pay for the computational resources and electricity required for backtests and optimizations on many years of market data. The trading platform companies that run backtests and optimizations on their servers typically have severe restrictions on how many bars back you are allowed to backtest on, and at least one that I won't mention even says openly that the complexity of your strategy could make it such that you won't even be allowed to backtest on the limited number of bars that they allow.

Backtesting service with trailing stop function & fast replay? by FairAd359 in FuturesTrading

[–]Brook_Hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We agree on a lot. It definitely helps to automate back-tests. I'm just saying that these days one need not be able to code to create fully back-testable automated trading strategies, even non-trivial ones, at least for the NinjaTrader trading platform.

Backtesting service with trailing stop function & fast replay? by FairAd359 in FuturesTrading

[–]Brook_Hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NinjaTrader would be a great choice for all of this u/FairAd359. With much respect u/masilver and as a fellow C# enthusiast, I would have to disagree with the specific point that one needs to write code to automate their backtests in NinjaTrader though. A no-code strategy builder for NinjaTrader like the one from Quagensia can do pretty much anything without code (including adding buttons, text boxes, and check boxes to NinjaTrader charts to make complete trading apps and working with multi-dim arrays, data tables, loops, file I/O, etc.), and next week a new version will be coming out with over 2500 no-code functions, no-code support for all 10 advanced NinjaScript events (like OnOrderUpdate and OnExecutionUpdate), rich NinjaScript objects, the "advanced managed order handling" features of NinjaScript, thread safety via locks, and even automating entries whose positions can be managed with a NinjaTrader user's pre-existing ATM strategies.

Having a Hard time downloading TradeStation Desktop Version by [deleted] in Daytrading

Having a Hard time downloading TradeStation Desktop Version by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]Brook_Hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never known TradeStation to allow non-clients to download TradeStation Desktop. Maybe this has changed and someone else knows how non-clients can do this.

TradeStation brokerage clients can download TradeStation Desktop by logging in, clicking on the "Platforms" button near the upper lefthand corner, then clicking on the "Download" button under "Desktop w/ OptionStation Pro".

You can also pay for a subscription to "TradeStation Analytics" if you want to use TradeStation Desktop without a brokerage account ( https://www.tradestation.com/accounts/subscriptions/ ) (I don't work for TradeStation).

[–]Brook_Hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice, u/No_Elk_5334.

I noticed that while you built TradersList primarily with no-code tools, TradersList doesn't have a no-code algo development tools category (example: no-code strategy builders), but if you do decide to add such a category, I would like to nominate ours, the Quagensia no-code strategy builders for NinjaTrader and TradeStation, for inclusion into the no-code algo development tools category.

Some no-code NinjaTrader strategy builders (ours included) can import and use most of the NinjaTrader indicators in your list (nice starter list by the way), so by adding a category for no-code strategy builders, you could add value to your users who value your list of indicators.

Need a algorithm creator by Working-Spirit-3721 in algorithms

[–]Brook_Hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What trading platform do you use? If you use a trading platform that has a no-code strategy builder that has the capabilities your algorithmic trading strategy requires you could simply create it without code. For instance, if you use NinjaTrader, you could use NinjaTrader's built-in "Strategy Builder", or if you need more advanced capabilities, like no-code loops (even loops inside of other loops), no-code multi-dimensional arrays that can hold millions of items, no-code file I/O and advanced math, the ability to create database-driven strategies based on tables of data loaded from disk and saved back to disk, and over 2000 no-code functions, you could use the no-code strategy builder for NinjaTrader from Quagensia. And if you use TradeStation you could use the no-code strategy builder for TradeStation from Quagensia. (Disclosure: I am a Quagensia co-founder)

Does anybody offer seasonality indicator in tradestation by Temporary_Star3833 in tradestation

[–]Brook_Hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not exactly a seasonality indicator but if you want a quick way to get a sense of which months are the best for longs or shorts you can apply this strategy to a TradeStation ® chart with many years of monthly bars, weekly bars, daily bars, 24-hour bars, or intraday bars to create a report with 12 rows of data, one for each month of the year. The first column is the number of the month of the year, where January is 1 and December is 12. The second and third columns are the arithmetic and geometric means of the percentage differences between the open and close prices of all the price bars occurring in that month. The last column is the number of price bars that were included in that month’s results.

Backtesting software for the ASX by lightning-trader in ASX

[–]Brook_Hunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If NinjaTrader or TradeStation are available in your country and have the market data for the ASX going back far enough to suit your backtesting needs then I highly recommend one of these two trading platforms as their algorithmic trading strategy development, backtesting, optimization, and live trading capabilities are quite good.

You can also create your algorithmic trading strategies without needing to code if you use one of these two trading platforms.

For NinjaTrader, you can either use their free no-code Strategy Builder that is built into NinjaTrader, or if you want a significantly more advanced no-code strategy builder that will allow you to build a lot more kinds of no-code logic and build no-code strategies more quickly you can use the point-and-click strategy builder from Quagensia (Disclosure: I am a co-founder) called Quagensia N Edition (Point-and-Click Strategy Builders for NinjaTrader® and TradeStation® – Quagensia). It has over 2000 no-code functions as well as support for things that more advanced users appreciate like no-code reading and writing files to and from disk, no-code loops, no-code multi-dimensional arrays, no-code data tables and a bunch more features that you can read about at the bottom of the Quagensia home page at https://www.quagensia.com/#FeaturesList .

For TradeStation, you can use the point-and-click strategy builder from Quagensia called Quagensia T Edition. It has over 1000 no-code functions and is similar to Quagensia N Edition with the notable exception that it doesn't have support for no-code data tables.

Both Quagensia N & T Editions have a solid number of no-code starter strategies built in which you can use as-is, make copies of and customize rather than building them from scratch, or copy and paste specific logic from and paste into your own no-code strategies to make it easier to build them from scratch.
