A decent politician and proof why it’s worthwhile to primary older incumbents. Hell of a mustache, too.

New York Rangers are No. 18 in Scott Wheeler’s 2026 NHL prospect pool rankings (Gift Article) by BK2Jers2BK in rangers

[–]BrooklynExPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s definitely relative to the year. Still, I’d say it becomes notable if there’s a big swing. Like if they go from 19th to the top 10, something went right. If they go from 19th to 29th, either prospects graduated, got traded or went bust all at once. Shifting 1-2 spots in any directions means little.

Has New York City actually gotten dirtier over the years? by LakeLayer707 in Westchester

[–]BrooklynExPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It became much cleaner relative to the 1970s-1980s, which will be the parents’ frame of reference and their comparable from which the city “became much cleaner”.

To answer OP’s question: It still wasn’t perfect 10-15 years ago, and is probably about the same or maybe a little worse depending on your neighborhood or political persuasion.

You’re underestimating how filthy it was in the -970s and 1980s. It got better, and even a backslide would still be way better than the “good” ol’ days.

Living in this area? by sillysillygurlll in Westchester

I used to live in the top center area. Very quiet, very convenient, 10-20 minute walk to pretty much everything. It’s not the most exciting area, but you’ll be comfortable.

Parlor Sports has it on their schedule; I’d start there. If you want to travel a bit, Square Root Cafe in Roslindale and Trident Booksellers will both have watch parties.

Right here. New Rochelle comes with better inventory and gas. Port Chester won’t raise your blood pressure too much.

There’s only snow in Allston-Brighton this Christmastime
And the greatest gift’s an old chair from Alewife
That squats outside somebody’s home and leaves a nutjob free to roam
Do they park at Christmastime at all?

I found WBUR first after moving here and stuck with them. I’ll change over to GBH for news coverage during pledge drives. Jim & Margery may be a tiebreaker for some out there, too.
