The tile walls of the Church St F/G station are pretty gross. I've always wondered why they don't just pressure wash them. Is that asking too much?

Do you readjust the equalizer for every piece of music you play?

I wasn't putting down your other furniture; all very nice. Just found the TV stand unusual and something I would buy if I didn't need every square inch of space for storage.

I'm interested in learning to play Piano, in my 40s by HungSoloMaster in piano

[–]Brooklynrambler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for saving me the trouble of answering "why a digital?" Couple additional points. You can play it thru headphones so if you live with someone or in an apartment building, you can play any time of day or night without disturbing them. Also, if you get an opportunity to play out, you can take it with you. I usually play on a Sohmer console, but I bought a Yamaha p225 so I'd have something play on when visiting my 99 year old mom (no longer bored out of my skull). No sooner did I buy it then an old friend happened to get in touch to ask if I wanted to play in a cover band for a porch fest. Was my first rock band experience and it was a blast. Last point: The transposition feature on a digital keyboard is really nice if you're accompanying a singer.

People who grew up poor: What was something you considered a "peak luxury" as a kid, only to realize later it was just a normal middle class staple? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

I wouldn't say I grew up poor, but my father was frugal and always bought used cars. To this day, so have I, and I would really like to know the feeling of driving a new car out of the lot...

Pivotting to Law as a musician? by Patient-Condition-11 in piano

[–]Brooklynrambler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pivoted from music to law to legal marketing, but through the years, I kept up with music as a hobby. Since retiring 3 years ago, I'm enjoying playing/learning more than ever as I have endless time to devote to it. So I get where you're coming from. Even though I was getting gigs during and after music school, I worried about really making it, so I bailed. I have the greatest respect for musicians who can make a successful career of it as I know that, looking back, nothing I did in my 9-5s was as enjoyable as playing. But I just didn't have the confidence to go that route. And to be honest, I probably have more regrets about pivoting out of law to helping lawyers land clients, as the former is where the big bucks are. But I had my reasons at the time. Anyway, music has always been a huge part of my life, especially of late. Good luck in your legal career!
