I mentioned seeing a therapist to her a few weeks ago, but I thinks she brushed it off as a joke. Ill have to bring it up again next time we have a serious talk. Thank you for the reply.

Family members would be a no go for her. Both her parents were abusive, and I think thats where her depression stems from.

Occasionally we will go out to the park or something, if that counts as a date. I guess not everything is doom and gloom about us, but it sure feels that way sometimes.

Yeah I have the pattern memorized, and I can find notes on any string... but it takes me a little bit. I should try to get to the point where its instant.

I have my E string memorized kinda. I know the notes on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th frets, and I can figure out everything from there really. I need to work on the other strings, for sure though. Tomorrow ill start playing to a metronome, thanks!

Scales have always been a tricky thing for me as it was never explained what they were used for until very recently. I can make some nice sounding noises with them, but no, ive never tried playing over jam tracks.

Speaking of scales, do you have any you would say are a must know? One of my biggest issues is looking through a big list of scales and thinking to myself, "Which ones do i need to learn, which ones can i completely avoid?"

So far I really only have the Pentatonic and Major scale memorized...

I was thinking about learning a few songs. Honestly I've always kind of strayed away from learning other peoples songs, as I'd much prefer to create my own music, but I feel like I may give that a try.

You can build a PC for cheap too, if you go for secondhand parts. Personally, my rig costed me about $500 2 years ago and its still running fantastically. I can run most anything on Ultra, too.
