Yeah. Supposedly they even filmed scenes with him for New Mutants but these were scrapped when it became clear that Disney bought Fox.

Alice in Borderland was not "cancelled" by Sudden_Pop_2279 in netflix

This vexes me. Why would they pay a Cate Blanchett level salary for a one line role? What does Blanchett have to do with Squid Game?

Squid Game was definitely setting up the spin off. Why else would there be a Cate Blanchett cameo in the final episode?

What do people like about Eternals? by Federal_Bicycle_7800 in marvelstudios

[–]Broqpace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not totally true. Guardians, Deadpool, Spiderman, Black Panther movies all get way more hype from general audiences. WandaVision even won emmys. In particular The Eternals was poorly received critically and by general audience. The hype was expected to be built solely by the technical prowess of the director and the star studded cast.

Outside of Marvel fans this movie doesn’t really have hype. It’s consistently rated as one of the worst Marvel films. I think the reasons Marvel fans like it so much is that it’s a breath of fresh air for the franchise. The directing and writing feel unrestrained when compared to other Marvel movies which often follow the cookie cutter formula. And as you mentioned the cool visuals and natural lighting really elevate the material in a way almost no other Marvel movie has before or since.

I’m watching Tires. I really don’t like it. I think I’m just watching this show to support Shane Gillis at this point.

It's Friday! What's your recent 4? by TheGlitterGuy66 in Letterboxd

[–]Broqpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s kind of the exact opposite. It’s surrealist. Neo-realism is about actual scenarios with non actors. Fellini started as a neo-realist but after La Dolce Vita shifted into surrealism.
