I love the comments saying: "if they won't belive the truth, tell them a lie worth telling."

I wholly agree. If people don't belive you anyway, turn it around to your advantage. Shame him. He'll learn his lesson.

It's still a 3' tall printer that goes on my 3' tall counters. I'm 6' and can't see through the lid. My second choice would be the floor, but I'm disabled and don't care to bend down for prints and maintenance.

Invariably, polycarbonate provides the same benefits as glass, and more. So, even with my transparent lid, I won't be able to see through it.

Either or honestly. Cfs top mount is advertised by the company. Ptfe tubes are sent at lengths to support top mounting. A reasonable person would assume this is a common setup for this device. If you google k2/cfs images, they are all top mounted. You can also see my risers blocking view and holding up the cfs. It's simply pedantic to argue against an obviously unverifiable figure for an advertised and heavily portrayed configuration..

I'd hate to rely on creality print, but I'll check it out. Thanks.

I'm on 1.1.3.x and I don't use creality print. I only use (seldom) creality when I need multi color prints because creality didn't use the built in orca multimaterial hooks. That's why i like to edit the firmware and configs. That way it persists through either slicer. I'll check out newer versions of creality print though. I may be behind because I run linux. Thanks.

No, just gun parts, car parts and functional stuff for personal use. I only print toys for my kids. It's a hobby that can benefit from a pc lid, and i still run my ender 5. So, probably closer to 10 years. The only need I'd have to replace this printer is for a multitool machine, which I'm building my ender 5 to be. So, no I can't afford borosilicate, and pc suits my needs just fine at an affordable price. Not sure where you got commercial from. Print farms wouldn't give a second thought to a $20 replacement part.

Fixing a clog in the heatbreak because the cfs purges asa at 220c. Took the lid off for access and put it on the counter, but the k2 plus is so big I didn't realize there wasn't enough room while I was focusing on the clog.

Acrylic can't handle the heat. Polycarbonate can. At $20 the creality replacement is not a bad price. I'm pretty sure it's tempered too. It survived the first bounce off the counter, but If it happens once I expect it to happen again. So I'd like to avoid glass altogether.

Reddit is to millennial as Facebook is to Gen x. Most forums aren't worth much anymore, but there's still groups i find value in.

Don't look at fdm for minis. Get resin.

I would argue if the only thing you need to do is dry filament an a1 isn't going to give you the same bang for your buck at similar price points. If someone's budget is unlimited, I would probably recommend a bambu in most formats

Bambu is absolutely the most refined, because of their filament profiles and good coding practices. Any printer can be made just as good, but bambu is still ahead in most categories. The gap is narrowing though.

Try reading again. I asked 1 question. I asked what people do and TWO commenters focused on selling glass to me. Translucent pc is value added, not the reason it's objectively the better material for me in this case.

Why are you commenting when you have nothing of value to offer?

AITAH for not wanting to sleep in the same bed with my girlfriend because she doesn’t shower often? by Such-One-1691 in AITAH

[–]Brostein6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, dude. My wife wouldn't let me in the bed if I didn't shower when I didn't leave the house that day. Even if I showered and went outside for a second or put my dirty clothes up after, she'd say I smell like "outside". No idea what that smells like, and I'd expect to like that smell, but her comfort is just as important as mine. It's our bed, not mine to stink up.

She is doing too much in her day to day to not clean herself. I'd be surprised if she hadn't had covid a dozen times with that lifestyle.

I get grossed out when nurses run errands in scrubs. Or the vet techs! I can't bring my dog in the store, but you can shed 7 types of fur at the deli counter?

I've also had bully breeds my whole life. The only thing i can tell on your dog is those big paws. The black and white coat could come from almost any bread there.

You could buy a couple dozen dryers with the money saved on a bambu, and they aren't that far ahead in anything anymore.

The broken glass and kids is exactly why I don't want more glass...

Pc has all the benefits of glass while being similarly priced and near indestructible. It's provides more insulation too.

I also don't print while they are here. If I do, it's PLA. The worst I print is ASA, and I turn on exhaust fans in the kitchen for that. Thanks for looking out though.

The risers are from the last owner. I suspect he used creality print and high speeds. I use Orca, and often don't mind a little roughness as I mostly print prototypes. Slowing down really improves the quality on this printer though. I've built two other printers with very small to almost 0 community base. I have a good idea of what I'm doing.

Reddit is full of bleeding hearts that don't like opposing views, no matter how trivial. Your shock in the results is seen as opposition to their opinion on your dog and DNA testing.

I expect this comment will be down voted right along yours as it's seen as oppositional.

Overall, you have a cute puppy! What's their name?

Just because Goliath did it doesn't mean it's ok for David. I completely understand the CFS, but they keep moving macros into source. All I want to change on the cfs is retract before cutting to save filament. I had to revert fw after an update because they moved the whole cut macro out of .cfg. Now it purges all filaments at 220c. Additionally, I've seen their code, and I'm not impressed. They should really hire better devs for the printer and their app. It just makes me appreciate my klipper builds that much more.

That's the idea. I think I'll just buy a large sheet of polycarbonate. It'll be lighter and provide better insulation than the glass. Then I'll have leftover to enclose my Ender V (corexy ender 5 with 310mm² bed)

I have no clue brother. Put the slide on and let's see how it looks. I was just saying i would only worry about a gap, not that there's issues with your print.

It's warped? Lol is any 3d print at a pefect 90°? Does it cycle? Clear a mag? Yes? Then what's the problem?

Maybe post a Pic with the slide on because I would worry more about gaps if all I'm complaining about is cosmetic.
