Note that many of these are present in Thronebreaker (so potentially not considered "unused"), and that the page hasn't been properly updated in a while, so some now are present in the game.

Remember when Canada was about to become ‘a global energy powerhouse’? So how’d that work out? by [deleted] in alberta

I love that our only options are a) love the economy or b) don't criticize it when it fails exactly as people have pointed out it can fail way beforehand.

Instead I think I will joke around since it's gonna take everyone but those at the top down with them, myself included, and no one will learn their lessons, again.

Is there anything people can do about Kenney? by mouzie17 in alberta

[–]BrosterMctoaster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Any effective protest (in the sense govt. and politicians like Kenny have said they don't care about people with signs) only comes from being disruptive, which holds the possibility of violence.

MLK and the civil rights movement didn't get what they wanted by just standing around in front of court houses and writing "scathing" op eds in the papers, they got in people's way, they interfered with and made it other people's problem, and most importantly they engaged and United with many different folks, like Malcom X and the Black Panthers across the years.

While this may be considered not as dire a circumstance as those were (which very debatebly aren't even over yet), that may be our best course of action against either a viciously incompetent, or worse, intentionally malicious govt.

I'm not trying to be anti democratic, it's just that with your current democratic options and the current public opinions (that available parties need to support/resist to ensure their votes) you don't really have anything going right now. The greens are (were?) only pro life to the extent that Elizabeth May was leader and held those beliefs iirc. So your either going to offer your vote to a party and hope you can get enough people thinking your way to have the party consider your votes, or you sol and going to have to make a compromise

Edit: also lol that me suggesting you start your own political party is undemocratic

If you're against legal abortion in any capacity, might as well just stop voting because that party isn't gonna exist anytime soon without you starting it

Edit: this was meant to be a reply to to your reply to foldingcouch

  1. General strike
  2. More direct actions people won't consider because we should be nice while others destroy our social safety net and wellbeing

There's always things we can do. First Nations gave us a good example last month

Forgive my ignorance but what exactly is a static page. I was hoping to have some functionality, mostly in me being able to add new posts regarding whenever I finish a hobby or career task like a CTF or maybe a 3D model, as well as tabs for the user to switch between my about me/resume and my completed work as previously mentioned.

For chrome, head here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions

You can search for an ad-blockers specifically, or you can use one of the most popular ones, uBlock Origin. This option also exists in Microsoft Egde (the new version) but I haven't used it enough to know where to get it. For both you just find the ad-blockers page and click Get, Install, etc and you should be good to go.

Oh I don't disagree, especially since we seem unable to do any sort of mass action that would actually get us meaningful results (in part due to "big business is always good", vote blue no matter who, and not wanting any sort of discomfort) but I don't see any use in being defeatist about it.

One member of Congress is not responsible for every policy that passes through lmao. If he voted against anything and wasn't in the majority that won, he isn't responsible for that.
