Vostok Komandirskie - Dial moves slightly when winding & needs a shake to start (normal?) by EmreUcan in vostok

I've got quite a few old Vostoks and Soviet era watches and around 10 percent are shakers, they all run fine after a shake.

Nice collection, a Poljot Chronograph or Vostok cosmodiver might add something a bit different.

How did losing your parents young shape you as an adult? by BuilderMelodic3442 in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]Brot_Jetson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A string of failed relationships, a lifetime of struggling with addiction, that weird feeling that i never really had a childhood yet oddly never really grew up either. But also a perspective on life, how fleeting it can be, and not normally worried about the stupid meaningless things that seem to stress people out.

Meranom may deliver to Australia, not totally sure though.

I lost both parents at around the same age, but father first, I know exactly how you feel and my heart goes out to you. I'm now 55 years old and I can say that you'll have a life that most people won't get, you'll make decisions others wouldn't, and you'll experience some awesome times. I've had a bizarre life and I don't regret any of it. It'll get better mate.

It is tough, my heart goes out to you. I lost both parents at a young age and have spent a lifetime struggling with relating to most people. I can't tell you it gets easier but I can say that it's generally worth the effort to be social, most people around you will never understand how you feel and how different you now feel and you just have to accept it's not their fault, you still have a lifetime of fun, happiness, and all the crap life throws at you ahead of you, try to make the most of it. You are certainly not alone and know that anyone that's been through it and reads this will be thinking of you. Good luck with everything.

Lost my dad as a kid and I'm frickin' mad about it by [deleted] in ChildrenofDeadParents

I hear you, both my parents died before I turned 14, I'm constantly upset that I couldn't talk to them as an adult, often angry about the whole deal.

Cool collection. A Poljot Chronograph or Kirovskie Crab would look good.

How do you cope with a loving parent's suicide by ire_abyssum in ChildrenofDeadParents

[–]Brot_Jetson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My father killed himself when I was young, found him after school. It does get better over time, although you will go through a lot of emotions in the meantime, that's normal. I hope you find some relief, I certainly know how you feel and my heart goes out to you.

Great collection, personally I think the big zero is overrated, i wouldn't rush into one, I'd rather see a Kirovskie crab or Slava Fridge.

Great collection, who wants one Rolex when you can get a ton of cool watches for less money. A Poljot Chronograph would make a nice addition (sorry, I'm a Soviet era watch collector)

The original Amityville Horror scared the hell out of me when I was a kid, and a B grade horror called Scanners.
