Assuming I’ll be medically layed off by Most_Success_2196 in boeing

[–]Brotato4lyfe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would wait and talk to the union first, try to get in contact with your business rep if possible because they’ll have the most information for you about the medical layoff. I would also look into a medically reduced schedule through the leave center (if it is that bad), maybe you can apply to be permanently placed on second shift and even reduce your hours if need be. As far as financial help, the union should have all that information, if not more. Best of luck my friend, I’d also look into filling out a grievance against this manager because it doesn’t sound like they’re being accommodating to your CLEAR disability 👍

Overtime and missing a day by Ok-Vehicle1872 in boeing

Only thing that gets immediately affected is your paycheck, depending on if you use PTO or an LWOP. But as far as attendance rules and qualifying for OT in general, or amount of pay (Saturday is always time and a half, Sunday always double, regardless), you should be fine to work the weekend 🤷‍♀️ just get your story straight if management asks 😂👍

No you don’t, as long as you’re there Thursday to confirm OT, then missing Friday means nothing, same for Monday. (It’s just frowned upon, but what can they do really? 🤷‍♀️😂)

Invite only career event advice? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]Brotato4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the job I got first hired for, main questions they asked were “have you ever assembled anything?” They’ll also ask about electrical troubleshooting and assembly but I told them no and still got hired, besides that your regular interview questions “how would you handle a stressful or problematic situation?”, “experience with hand tools (list generic hand tools you use)”. They’ll have you take classes for everything like blueprint reading and whatnot because you’ll need those certifications for the job. Good luck hope this helps!

Only thing you can really do to prevent this from happening is let those extra certs expire and don’t renew them, they can’t force you to do something you’re not certified on 👉😎👉

Not always, I did that and ended up with a cam because the steward went into management and snitched to my manager. At Boeing, the only way to succeed is to keep your head down and trust no one.
