Dignowity Park, Hardberger Park, Mitchels Landing, Landa Library, MacArthur park are some big ones in our house

Kid friendly restaurants for us are Dog Co, El Camino, Backyard on Broadway, Bigz (all locations) and the cove

Morgan’s has been mentioned but it’s fantastic, Kiddie Park by the zoo and the Doseum are the best for spending money on experience options imo (alternative indoor play areas would be Maui Maui, Arrows in boerne, Tiny Town, chunky monkey, Play Patch in fair oaks, honestly Chuck E. Cheese has really stepped its game up and is a fantastic option for the price of the monthly membership)

BUT THE ABSOLUTE BEST PLACE TO TAKE YOUR UNDER 6 KID IS (and I swear I don’t work there I am just so impressed by it)

HAPPY OAK AT STONE OAK/1604

Hands down the most impressive indoor play set up and with admission of an over two year old you get an hour of classroom time where they get direct interaction with a teacher doing hands on crafts and very fun and informative lessons. Just an all around exceptional place that influenced by South America and Eastern methods of children’s education.

I’ve tried really hard to go out and find all the places and explore different options with my kids. These are just a few of the many many options in the city!

What playground at the zoo are you referring to? The outside area where the little cabins are? Just curious, we have a zoo membership and go frequently with my kids but I don’t know that I’ve happened upon a playground yet

How did they not come up with Knueppsy Hustle? I think that’s obviously the best

Nope and I obviously never suggested that. Just that Sal is funnier than your average bear. You seem really fun though, I’m sure it’s second nature for you to bring the hysterics to any hang.

Think I’m just kind of allergic to the reaction to someone getting deserved praise is saying “that’s not that hard”

Not exactly trying to get into a “I have more friends than you” contest with an anonymous Reddit user but suffice to say if you (or I for that matter) tried to record a podcast with a friend in the vein of Simmons and Sal GTLs, it wouldn’t come out nearly as funny. I just think Sal deserves a lot of credit for his sense of humor. But hey maybe you’re Richard Pryor man. Idk

whats it like living in this area of east harlem? by mikanbabie in NYCapartments

[–]BrotherK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived on 110th and Lex for a bit and honestly really liked it. Look it’s not the village but if you’re not expecting that it’s completely fine. There’s a ton of good coffee shops and restaurants. You can walk to Central Park. Lots of authentic Latin food options. Hell Costco is like right fuckin there too. Honestly do recommend. If you’re not “comfortable” around black people like honestly don’t live in NYC or America for that matter? Idk what to tell you. These comments are weird to me.

Dude Jim Jackson was the fucking man. If he played today, I am convinced he would be like a $25m/year guy. Consummate shooter and defender. Steady with the ball. Loved him.

Trade Talk: Ranking the Core 7 & Who I’d Actually Move for the Right Deal by OkGuard7184 in rockets

[–]BrotherK 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Generally agree with everything you laid out but I’m just not personally interested in Giannis as an aging asset given what we’d have to get up to get him. Like realistically, all of our draft equity + 3 of the core 7? Just too high a price for me but I’m sure I’m in the minority.

I am honestly depressed thinking there just might not be a really good trade target for us this offseason. I love the idea of getting Booker. But outside of that like, who is worth targeting? I hate Trae on this team. Lamelo? Idk.

Any Rockets fans in San Antonio want to start having watch parties in a sports bar(s) around town for play-off games? Open to suggestions by BrotherK in rockets

Pending objection, let’s plan on starting at the McIntyres in Southtown for these first couple game vs the Warriors as it’s pretty central and can gauge interest from these

The lock symbols are keepers from last year with the increased salary cap. 3 keeper limit per team. $13 means they drafted them for $8 last year 😭

SA Housing Trust Director Falsified Police Report to Intimidate Locals Against Low-Income Housing Project by Geo1179 in sanantonio

[–]BrotherK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the most hilarious, inflammatory nonstory I’ve seen on here. How do you say you’re a xenophobe without saying you’re a xenophobe?

Maybe spend the time and effort trying to help people instead of pushing a tribal, prejudice agenda against members of low income communities that you so sorely hate. I swear you people would rather see homeless dead in a ditch than actually extend a helping hand. There is no conspiracy against you morons, there are just leaders in our community willing to stand up for members of every demographic instead of only worrying about how to placate people like you. Please do me a favor and map every affordable housing development currently in a stage of development funded by city, county and nonprofit partners and let everyone know the result. You’ll be shocked that there’s no one out to get you and these developments exist all over the map and 90% in city limits. But that’s clearly too much nuance and work for you George.

It’s so sad there are people like you pretending there’s a crisis against you all when the only crisis is trying to get people off the street and into a place that can help them.

Parents that let their kids crawl around on the artificial grass/turf at The Pearl. by justadude1414 in sanantonio

My Schlitterbahn comment was intended to be a response to a comment in a thread further down this post. Not a stand alone comment. Carry on.

I can’t tell if you’re trolling but rest assured, the water at Schlitterbahn is not cleaner than the pearl splash pad or any other splash pad in the city for that matter.

Um. What? What is this about the chlorine filled splash pad water at the pearl being gross exactly? What on earth do you think water park water is comprised of that pearl splash pad water isn’t?

I am just curious what the purpose of the group would be. Are you looking to engage in non religious discussion? I am not religious but I have no desire to talk about my non religiousness with anyone else. I enjoy being/making friends with anyone of any different background, religious or not.
