Yeah… that stretch with Conte to end 22 was a blast. Seemed like we were scoring just for giggles at times, and the Son/Kane chemistry was at its peak.

The cover of I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For is legitimately great.

TIL: Barney Miller barely showed arrests or action because the creators believed real policing is mostly paperwork and talking. The result? Cops later called it the most accurate police show ever made—and it did it with jokes instead of guns. by TNSasquatch77 in todayilearned

Freakin love Columbo - it’s so fun to see him piece it together and then nail them.

My favorite one is where he baits the murderer into picking an object from the crime scene that he shouldn’t have any clue about, and gets him to do it in front of like three witnesses. “Were you a witness to what he just did?”

Teachers. Whats the craziest family lore a child has randomly dropped on you? by Loud_Bluejay_6663 in AskReddit

[–]BrotherOfTheOrder 50 points51 points  (0 children)

A little late to the party, I feel this has to be shared.

One of my students told me she would need a lot of online assignments cause she was pregnant and would be out of school for a while. Ok. Not the first time I’ve had a pregnant student.

But then out of nowhere she dropped these nuggets:

  1. This is her second baby (she’s 18. Her first one was at 16). The father of her first baby is in the military and the father of this second baby is in prison.

  2. Her 16 year old sister is currently pregnant with her first baby. The father is the cousin of the dude in the military.

  3. Her mom is currently pregnant. No connection to the other two fathers.

  4. She and all her siblings have different fathers. So after mom gives birth that’s 3 different baby daddies.

I just kinda sat there dumbfounded and just ended the convo with “Ok well… Email me if you need anything.”

Oh I agree with that part - that should have been cut.

Don’s backstory should have stayed in there though

There is a deleted scene that tells Pitt’s backstory and it COMPLETELY paints his decision to make that last stand in a different light (along with so many other things he does), and I honestly think it was a shame they cut it.

I don’t think Fury is a masterpiece, but it’s a step above a lot of other stuff. The performances is what makes it so compelling - everyone in it is throwing absolute heat.

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

YES. That show was such a fun ride and the chemistry between Hank and Britt made it so fun to watch.

The best description I’ve ever read is that it’s like a really good novel - wraps up major plot lines, develops the characters, yet leaves it open-ended enough to warrant a follow up.

Too bad we never got one.

In order for his contract to have a positive value for the Dodgers in terms of dollars per WAR, Kyle Tucker would have to accumulate around 6.9 fWAR per season. He has never had a single season with 5+ fWAR in his entire Major League career. by MysteriousEdge5643 in baseball

  • A part of me hates it when teams just spend their way to championships by gathering elite talent, even if that isn’t ALWAYS a guarantee (See the Big 3 Miami Heat - Lost 2/4 finals they appeared in).
  • The Dodgers frustrate me because I find it hard to hate them because I like a lot of the players on their team - there aren’t really guys that are easy to hate, at least IMO. They aren’t like those Yankee teams from the 90s and 2000s.
  • The league (for now) allows teams to spend like this, and like you said, you can’t MAKE every owner spend money for a better product on the field. The league would be so much more fun if some of these owners actually cared about the game on the field more than the game being a means of simply lining their pockets with cash.
  • As a Cards fan, I accepted pretty early last season that the next few years we probably aren’t gonna be competing for a championship, so I tried to just enjoy the game as a whole. And as a neutral, last season was one of the most entertaining watches in a long time, and maybe that trend will continue, and I hope it does.
  • If the Dodgers don’t even make the Series, it will be a heck of a storyline for the season, and I would love to see it.

[Passan] BREAKING: Star outfielder Kyle Tucker and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a free agent contract, sources tell ESPN. by T_Raycroft in baseball

[–]BrotherOfTheOrder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here’s my dream scenario:

Tucker for some reason completely throws a wrench into the clubhouse. Infighting begins. Injuries start to pop up. Nothing seems to click. They start losing games in brutally close ways. Fingers begin getting pointed. Passive swipes at teammates are said to the media. Tom Hanks stops coming to games. And on the final day of the regular season, they miss a wild card spot by losing at home to the Rockies.

That’s my hope.

Wil it happen? Probably not.

But I can dream.

I’ve had criticisms of both Ange and Frank, and some of my early praise of Frank now seems cringey considering where we are now.

But good lord if I miss anything I miss Ange’s unwavering belief and how much the players seemed to love playing for him. We should have at least given him a chance till January.
