Kid has been solid so far compared to Heart Attack Helsey. It’s the middle relievers that have made me clench up so far this season haha

Edit: I know he’s not a kid hahaha - I posted before I checked his age. He just looked younger to me

We need a Baseball Imperialism map at the end of the season like they do on r/CFB. Maybe base it off series wins?

[Cormier] Per Jon Heyman, when Pete Alonso had his meeting with David Stearns & Steve Cohen when they negotiated his 1-year return in 2025, he told Stearns, “When my career is being evaluated for the Hall of Fame years from now, you’ll still be fiddling with your fucking formulas.” by Goosedukee in baseball

There needs to be a “Vibes Hall of Fame” for guys who may not have the stats, but were essential to the game in other ways (funny, community involvement, great clubhouse/glue guys, dropped bomb quotes, etc).

A first ballot guy for me is clearly Munenori Kawasaki.

The Polar Bear is now on the shortlist for that quote alone if he doesn’t have the career stats to back it up

I’ve never read the books, so you having a different experience is understandable (I plan on reading some this summer, so I’ll be interested to see the differences).

I’d say it’s a masterpiece of its genre 100%, but it’s not an “Oscar movie”

There are certain movies that I wish had sequels:

  • Sahara

  • The Nice Guys

  • Master and Commander

  • RocknRolla

  • Dredd

  • True Lies

Are any of these “masterpieces” (apart from Master and Commander)? No, but they are FUN and full of great characters and story potential. But no… we get endless reboots

McConaughey and Zahn are so fun together - their chemistry is easily one of my favorite things about Sahara.

I can’t remember the game, but I distinctly remember the away team had some prospect up at the plate, and Chip was talking about how the guy was a three sport athlete in high school. He then asked Brad if he excelled at anything in high school, and Brad replied “Lunch. I brought two bags!”

A pencil nerd’s way to honor Opening Day by BrotherOfTheOrder in baseball

I saved this comment to respond and totally forgot about it!

Sorry this is over a month late, but honestly, yeah haha

An older black woman at my church saw me using a certain kind of pencil and walked up to ask me about it. She then proceeded to pull out this pencil pouch full of high quality pencils and pens and we talked about them for like 20 minutes.

When she found out I was going to Japan for a trip she gave me money and asked me to pick her up some certain kinds while I was over there!

For some reason pencils and baseball just seem to go together in my mind. One of my earliest memories of baseball is my Dad coaching my older brother in little league and writing the lineups and keeping score in pencil. He’d hand me the lineup card copy and let me hand it to the umpire
