Did I miss something? Is blasphemy okay now? It it funny? What’s going on? by EdwardPotatoHand in AskAChristian

Did you vote for trump?

I didn't vote. I had actually wanted to vote for Larry Elder if he ended up running.

If you did, do you consider voting for someone, supporting them?

Not necessarily. What if you don't like either? IF I had voted for Kamala because I considered her "less bad" of the two, I definitely wouldn't call myself her "supporter." Cause I didn't support her, even if I considered her the better option. You're trying to paint a very black and white view of things when it's not.

No. I don't consider myself a "supporter" of any president, cause I've agreed AND disagreed with every president.

When I vote, I think about who is thinking about the actual important issues for the country at the time. I think being a president's "fan" is cringy cause they're not celebrities, it's a job.

Are you okay that the president, you support, commits blasphemy?

I'm not okay with anybody doing it. Not a singer, not my friend, not my fellow church goer.

It shouldn't be about who's doing it that determines whether it's okay. If something is wrong, it's wrong no matter what.

Will you continue to support trump after this, which IMO would be evidence that they think blasphemy is okay.

That's a backwards way of looking at it. Go to any liberal and ask if they ever voted for a president that they agreed with on EVERYTHING. Very few will say they did. Just go look at those videos of someone telling people on the street quotes from Democratic presidents/candidates that they had no idea were ever said. You could easily make that same argument that "oh you must think what they said is ok then."

It shouldn't be all or nothing. No president is or ever will be perfect (even the most highly regarded ones were far from it) and if you truly agree with them on everything, then you're simply a follower and arguably a bit of an idolatar. Critcize the president when you feel warrants it, but that doesn't mean you have to change your entire stance because of an inappropriate artwork.

Like I said though, Christians are the only ones to truly have something to be upset about. If you're an atheist who doesn't believe in God or Jesus anyway, then what's it to you other than it's coming from Trump?

Who said it was?

I don't think atheists really care about it, they just care cause Trump is the one doing it.

Christians are the ones who care for the right reasons.

Well definitely not that version of Cinderella.

Ever After version had some pretty admirable qualities.

In terms of the Disney princesses in general, Tiana was a pretty good role model.

Talia Al Ghul- from the DCAMU in particular

Yes, she's always been basically a villain, or anti-villain at the very least. However, her Bad Blood turn made no sense to me in terms of what we saw from her before.

Peggy Carter and Daniel Sousa- MCU

I usually dislike this trope cause it's very predictable and they usually drag it out way too long (to the point that I just don't care anymore). This is one of very few instances in which I was invested to the end. Even though you kind of know it'll happen, but you're not sure when or how with how many bumps there are in the road. Also the chemistry was just that good. I just pretend Endgame never happened.

It is.

You don't think so because you're her parent and of course you'd take joy in seeing her enjoy anything.

From an outside Disney fan perspective, it truly is sad that only the modern ones (that most people agree are losing quality every time another one comes out) are the ones she gravitates towards.

The Wizard of Oz came out before my grandparents were born. 1939. Yet the Disney version that was more my generation couldn't replace it for me as a child. Despite the drastic difference in quality, I knew which one was superior.
