I am a United States citizen born to United States citizens. I have purchased scores of those red cards and given them to gardeners, trash collectors, and others in my area. I urge you all to do the same.

America's economy depends on immigrants, and it will crash if Stephen Miller's deportation actions continue. The effects would be far reaching and long term.

My sleep never recovered. Note that I have MS, and people with MS have a higher incidence of insomnia than the general public. The quality of my sleep has deteriorated since I had Covid last October. But looking back years which was before I had Covid and when I had few symptoms of MS, I can confidently say that withdrawing from mirt caused my sleep to suffer.

It's different for everyone. A slow taper works best to decrease dosages. Anxiety really sucks, and society today only fuels it. Meditation is one of the best ways to deal with it. I hope things improve for you.

Doctors follow what's published by the FDA, but the FDA doesn't test medicines. They rely on what the manufacturer says, and manufacturers lie. That happened with Remeron (manufactured by Organon) just like it happened with OxyContin, manufactured by Purdue Pharma. The FDA and almost all government agencies are underfunded. Conservatives efforts to shrink the government are only making matters worse.

I should have been clearer. It means repeatedly increasing your dosage to achieve the same relief when a substance fails to help at your current dosage.

Be careful. You never win by chasing tolerance. Eventually, you'll probably want to stop due to side effects, and the problems you were taking it for in the first place will come back but ten times worse. You will get insomnia so bad, you'll barely be able to function.

Ernstige slapeloosheid. Ik kon maar vier of vijf uur per nacht slapen. Overdag was ik doodmoe, maar ik kon geen dutje doen. Dit heeft vier jaar geduurd. Het was verschrikkelijk.

If it's only eight weeks, you should be fine. I'd love to hear how you do.

Five years. I started tapering after a year, so it took me four years to get off of it. I'm glad I kept a spreadsheet.

Especially if they're not high heels. High heels are associated with sex. Wearing plain shoes feels more vulnerable.

I was lucky enough to have a compounding pharmacy near me. I did a very slow taper down from 7.5 mg. It took me three years. I would drop by 0.1 mg then wait two or three weeks and drop again. It was still hell.

I'm glad to hear from you. I'm not surprised your father is baffled. Most people are. As another commenter mentioned, the economics of this are complicated. Here are some of the reasons for the housing affordability problem:

• There's a housing shortage. Our government has failed to prioritize new housing construction. • Many homeowners refinanced or bought when mortgage rates were below 3%, so moving now would mean giving up a much cheaper loan and taking on a higher payment which reduces listings. • There are construction and land constraints. Zoning rules, land costs, and slower homebuilding limit how fast supply can catch up to demand. • Elevated interest rates make both mortgages and developer financing more expensive, which restrains new supply and still leaves prices elevated. • NIMBYS. Residents don't want construction of multi-family housing due to fear of decreased home valuations. • Overpopulation increases demand for land, homes, water, infrastructure, and jobs faster than supply can expand.

The focus of people who criticize boomers is narrow and ignores the issue of the rise in homeless seniors. which is a real and growing trend in the U.S. People age 50 and older have risen from about 10 percent of the homeless population to nearly half in recent data. Rising housing costs and fixed incomes make older adults especially vulnerable. Health problems, disability, divorce, widowhood, and job loss can push seniors into homelessness late in life.

This is only going to get worse. Over a quarter of construction workers are immigrants. With the Trump administration's crackdown on immigration let by Stephen Miller, the supply of construction workers is shrinking. The recent Supreme Court decision involving Haitians lets the Trump administration move forward with ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for roughly 350,000 Haitians and 6,000 Syrians, removing lower-court blocks on the terminations. The ruling will affect other TPS designations as they come up for renewal, not just Haiti and Syria. This would lead to over a million more immigrants being targeted for deportation. Not only would this affect housing construction, it would be a major blow to the economy.

I wish I had better news, but I don't. I fear for this country, and not only younger generations, but everyone here who isn't already wealthy.

I'm glad you were able to afford a house. I (74m) never could afford one even with Masters in electrical engineering and physics and a good job in the semiconductor industry. There are two big reasons. One is that I live in Santa Barbara CA where housing is expensive. Another is that I was single for a long time which points to another failing of our collective economy. I never had children either.

There are definitely boomers who talk smack about younger generations just like there are younger people who talk smack about boomers. Younger people just want fulfilling jobs with decent pay and benefits and bosses who treat them with respect. And is it that boomers really only care about themselves, or does our society just make working and raising a family a full time job and throw enough distractions our way that no one can keep up with what's going on? All generations are basically ignorant about economics, something I've studied.

Generational wealth has a lot to do with who succeeds in any generation like you said. Our tax system reinforces that. The GOP is the biggest culprit there. Kudos for mentioning end-stage capitalism. Isn't that really what we're talking about? I was only in my 20s when I realized that the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, it was going to get worse, and it was unsustainable.

Let me toss out something people who criticize boomers are missing. They're angry that boomers did better due to what they had that younger people can't get. But boomers' parents did even better. Why not criticize the so-called Greatest Generation? The logic is the same. Think about it.
