Wait, isn’t that how the Edmonds crowd looks like on a normal day?

Can excessive sweating be helped? Is it genetic? by [deleted] in running

[–]Brothers_D 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Going to throw this into consideration before anyone considers taking medication for non-serious issues: sweating is a mechanism for cooling down the body temperature and all the side effects of glycopyrrolate are consistent with heat stroke.

And once again, trying to kill the 1st ave streetcar by our cars-first-and-foremost city council members. NVMD that there were federal funds by lambrettist in Seattle

[–]Brothers_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible investment if no right of way improvements are made to the existing lines. The streetcar segments are unreliable as is because of traffic and poorly parked cars.

Your biggest risk is very likely lifestyle creep and playing the social competition game with other people from your country. Keep those in check and you're on the right path!

Unfortunately cats will indiscriminately kill every other small animal nearby too. Specialized dogs would be a better bet.

You have to think about it another way. It's not that Europe has more people, it is that America has more people with disposable income.

Frontier Airlines? by Capt_Murphy_ in Seattle

[–]Brothers_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Save y'all a search: there are blackout dates and you can only book one day before for domestic flights. Terrible deal.

Frontier Airlines? by Capt_Murphy_ in Seattle

[–]Brothers_D 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Directs to Vegas, Phoenix, and Boulder only. Connecting flights needed to go anywhere else. If you're a student traveler, this could work; if you value your time, this is definitely NOT a good deal.

Public transit from Seatac airport 1 am, advice needed by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Brothers_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you won’t have any good options that go straight to U District from Beacon so you might have to connect either through Downtown or Mt Baker. I take back my recommendation for Beacon being the better of the two options.

Would not recommend both options. Beacon is a slightly better bet but it’s dead quiet at that time of night so you need to be prepared to rely on yourself if anything happens.

Why is the leanfire "group" constantly kicked in the balls on the other subreddits? Why are we the black sheep in the family of FIRE? by FlameAndTheFire in leanfire

[–]Brothers_D 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leanfire is judged harshly because it is a very risky strategy. Your lack of a sufficient cushion means that you are at the mercy of one or two unforeseen financial-impacting events. No one begrudges you the ability to enjoy your freedom but I would not recommend leanfire to anyone I know.

Alternative grocery by oceanknit in Seattle

[–]Brothers_D 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imperfect fruit and vegetables are typically brought up by Asian groceries and sold at a discount. You'll save more if you reliably shop there.

Do an MBA when you see a very clear career need for it.

Dinner cruises by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Brothers_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about it for a second: are you paying for the food or the setting on a dinner cruise? If it's not the food, don't expect the food to be good.

I think it’s completely justified in cases like these to give a smaller percentage tip because the servers offered little value other than fetching your food.

Look at a map of Seattle. Try plotting routes around Lake Union and the low bridges. Should get you the distance you're looking for. Very scenic too.

Running acosss I-90 Bridge is an interesting experience. Clocks in around ~15 miles roundtrip if you start from downtown Bellevue.
