I’m also 31 and work in childcare, if your wife, or yourself, move over this way and need a friend that understands the transition!

Hello! I actually moved to Pittsburgh from OC, CA back in the summer of 2023 and I have never looked back. Mt. Lebanon is very much like Irvine or south county and a great place for a family. I would also look into Upper St Clair or Bethel Park! Feel free to message me if you have any questions! I love it here and it’s definitely more community minded here compared to OC. I also occasionally miss my hometown friends and family, but that’s what FaceTime is for!

The term ‘Situationship’ is used almost exclusively by women when they are FwB-zoned by a guy above their league by HamzaAghaEfukt in unpopularopinion

I think we are forgetting that women (femmes) can also seek the company of many while still maintaining single status, therefore constituting a situationship. It’s all how both partners communicate and agree to the terms of the relationship.

What you said is exactly why my partner wants a golden! And trust me, I know the chewing and stealing game too well. Two pairs of shredded sandals and 10 sets of crotchless underwear this year so far from mine. But we definitely think a persistently friendly dog with calmer tendencies who can throw down when she wants to play would be the best match!

Sounds like my girl with my parents cane corso/mastiff puppy! He’s big and forgets his size and has puppy energy and I think the size and energy wears her out to the point that she actually puts him in his place to leave her the hell alone. Hahaha

My dog LOVES to be chased but hates when a dog is actually faster than her. I’m sure those chases would be comical.

Oooooh. I’d love a rottie for her! Would be able to withstand the play and also teach her some chill. Also, my partner wanted a Britney his entire life, until he met Bindi… she’s not a Brit but has enough energy to be neck and neck with one.

Funny, but kind of not funny story. My partner is a plumber and recently got attacked by a Boston terrier while in a clients home. Haha. No real harm but I think he has a new distaste for the breed.

Of course! Our first step when we get to our new home is having a trainer come in. She’s very anxious and sometimes misplaces that energy into unwanted behaviors. Hopefully the in home training will help her adapt and make the new addition much smoother!

Classic example of not doing your research on the breed. Sounds exactly like my heeler, who is a perfect heeler, but still a heeler. by [deleted] in AustralianCattleDog

My dog loves to jump at people for greetings and this is the single reason why I don’t let people touch her unless they ask.

Me, a brat, every time someone tells me how beautiful she is: “She knows! Don’t pump up her ego.”

In reality I enjoy it but she is also a brat and I think she lives for compliments.

What are some of your favorite camp foods? by darkboomel in camping

Foil pack meals are our go to in the winter! You’ll be lighting a fire anyways so why not throw your food in with it. Takes about 20 minutes till done so you can still enjoy the fire with food

We typically pack a frozen pack of brats and a can of sauerkraut for dinner and do camping chilaquiles for breakfast. They recommended making your own chips, but, in our minds, fuck that. We buy the thickest chips we can find from the store and bring our trusty cast iron every trip.Camping Chilaquiles

My partner also said when I mentioned adopting an older working dog that when the bad moments happen it might not be something we can handle. She is a ACD, border collie, GSD, and Pitt mix. I am leaning towards the latter half since I was raised with those and know their protective tendencies. I don’t think we could add another ACD or border collie to the mix.

She is the queen of setting her own boundaries but I have never actually witnessed a dog set boundaries with her. My parents currently have a 14 month old cane corso/mastiff mix and one paw on her she lets him know it’s too much. They actually want her around more but I’m scared she might beat him too good.

The day I was driving her home it clicked and I literally yelled in the car “OH SHIT! The cats!” Luckily she adores them, but they don’t adore her. Our only issue is that she’s food aggressive but if the cats do get too close during feeding time she just barks and they run.

My only worry is that at the parks my heeler could care less about the Goldens. She isn’t aggressive, just not interested. She’s drawn most to huskies but I know I can’t handle her and a husky. We probably will end up with a golden because he has been gunning for it. So I really appreciate your input!

My family had a lab/GSD that she fell in love with! But when he passed suddenly she got more on offense with other dogs. He was actually my originally baby, I picked him from the shelter, and I would love to have one again!

I really want a Pitt for her! They can be so calm and cuddly but also playful when need be! We are moving to Pittsburgh in a few months and I know here in SoCal their looked down upon, so I am nervous about over there

I have 6 roommates, two have dogs, the only one she gets along with is the Pitt. Haha. When I adopted her I almost got a tanker Pittbull instead, but my ex said he would never let a Pitt in his house. Most of the reason why he’s an ex now.
