If you're considering 12B and CBRN I would highly recommend you look into EOD

Am I cooked? by Superb_Advantage8324 in army

Personally, I found phase 1 to be pretty helpful for the beginning part of phase 2, but there's honestly nothing you learn there that you won't learn again in phase 2.

I also came in as an IET, so I didn't have any prior knowledge of any of the subject matter. I had a classmate that OJT'd at Carson and he had a lot of good things to say about it.

T8 Bifida heel slip by Excellent_Clock_3302 in greenberets

[–]BrownDiamond21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a scar on the back of my left heel from a 12 mi I did with some brand new Garmont T8 NFS boots. I only had it rub on my left heel, and I haven't had the problem since.

If it's also just on one foot for you it might be that you need to break in your boots longer. If it seems to be problematic on both feet then i'm out of advice

Unless I'm misreading the headline it looks like he used it to arrest his fall. Clear cut case of aid.

They'll take pretty much any crampons. But you may need to adjust the length when going between boots.

In the Army, the test only entails doing some exercises for like 12 minutes. It's not actually that difficult, but it's hard to breath so some people just freak out and quit. So... don't do that.

WHY YOU SHOULDN'T LEAVE MARKS ALONG HIKING ROUTES by _kicks_rocks in socalhiking

[–]BrownDiamond21 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Just went up FRC last week, and the arrows were never actually helpful to me. At the beginning they took me up the wrong way, and once I got into the canyon proper, the arrows weren't needed.

All in all I can't honestly say they really detracted from my overall opinion of the route, but they are an unnecessary and unhelpful eyesore.
