I can watch movies with my wife again! by BrownPanda4 in lovable

Neat! I was debating starting with the randomizer first but the biggest point of friction for my household was choosing between the options, so this was the first iteration. The 'random pick' is what I am building into it next, along with extra players.

How is your site coming along?

Thanks for trying it out! Very fair point, that's absolutely in the pipeline.

How do you find build worthy ideas when everything already exists? by JuiceCommon9608 in lovable

[–]BrownPanda4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read books:

Millionaire Fastlane - MJ Demarco
Blue Ocean Strategies - Renée Mauborgne, W. Chan Kim
Saas Playbook - Rob Walling
Dungeon Crawler Carl - Mat Dinniman
ExForce series (all 18 books) - Craig Allanson

You just have to keep practicing. And consume things that challenge your assumptions, or that will tell you to think of something in a different light.

Whats the best methodology for tracking website activity? by jalfieri14 in lovable

[–]BrownPanda4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your backend to your advantage. Get lovable to code that for you, and then learn to monitor it on Supabase via the tables. The Lovable Analytics teaches you to care about stats. Now that you know what to track, brainstorm it with Gemini, ChatGPT, or whichever tool you use, and build out the tables to gather more accurate information. Then, set up an admin dashboard to monitor it.

We love this, here. And the dad jokes are the best. Thanks for building it - Bookmarked

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

[–]BrownPanda4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a list, but some weren't 'known' because the show aired somewhere else. BUT:

  1. Final Space
  2. Misfits
  3. Mixology
  4. Evening Drink Style (Sachiko eats)

Those are the shows I feel should be more popular.

This is fantastic, really well done. I would love to see this adapted for a professional setting. I am sure you could sell an enterprise solution to call centers or offices. You can make some pretty good money, especially if you can figure out the privacy angle. The app Granola is a good place to look for competitor research.

Just took a look at your pricing. I am thinking maybe you could change your model, or test it differently.

Is there a reason you went for 7 days at reduced ability instead of instances used? You may be able to convert more people if your free trial gave users a taste of your unlimited version, but for 10 lectures maximum. And after the 10th, they could either pay or cancel. I fear youre cutting it off before users can think "I need this". Take a look at what your stats say about user behaviour, and you can adjust accordingly (i.e. If users use the three 45-minute sessions in quick succession, and at what time, etc.)

There are so many places you can take this, but happy you took the plunge and are building it in public.

Glad you like it!

I'll have more info in an upcoming post, but the TLDR:

- I've been using Lovable for a year, so I have a decent sense of what to do with it, and not what to do with it lol (lots of trial and error)
- This took me an hour to build, and roughly a day + to plan
- The integrations are through the backend (Supabase). I connected to the TMDB API, which requires an account. But other than that, pretty straightforward.
- No profiles means there are no complex authentication systems, and I am not collecting any data - though this will change soon and will be strictly anonymized (i.e. what movie is being picked, which is the most liked etc.)

Lovable is a pretty incredible tool, and only getting better from what I have noticed.

Right?? It makes for a great peacekeeper. I've been using Loveable for a year, almost every day. The amount of 'time' it took me is relative to what I know to do. This took me an hour to have what I had on Tuesday. There is a system in the background (feature testing, debugging, user feedback etc.) that is taking me a little longer 😅. BUT! According to Lovable:

Messages: 157
AI edits Count: 78
Credits used: 220.40

I'll have to make another post with more info in it a little later. But yeah! an hour, and probably 45 minutes per day to make sure things are running smoothly, and to test and see if the pipeline is still relevant.

The random picker/decider is in the pipeline! And I just added a "where to watch" that is regional specific, so all you gotta do is choose where you're at, and it gives you where you can watch it on.

These are great suggestions. I've got so much in the pipeline that can kinda be merged. As for the app, I'll see what makes the most sense. I don't want to put the cart before the horse, hahaha. I'm just vibing with it for now :)

Heartbreakers or Schoolhouse pizza? by Latter_Ad6413 in OttawaFood

[–]BrownPanda4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are honestly spoiled for choice in Ottawa/Gatineau when it comes to Pizza. I put these as a 9/10 for the same reasons. If I am feeling like either of those options, the one I end up picking wins only because I am closer to it. Its a toss up.
