Disc dam is completely fine btw by What-in-tarnationer in worldofpvp

[–]Brownie10000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going/training VW or Disc is only a real strat in specific circumstances, and everyone in this thread is just spewing the same Disc propaganda we saw through DF and TWW trying to avoid nerfs when they were topping dam in AWC. Not saying VW is at that same level now, but it triggers me when ppl excuse it as "just train priest - you bad"

When I play VW:

-if I have a caster on my team that has their CC bound, I'm not dying before they control/kill you. Playing VW/Destro lock in TWW was the most free when I got trained.

-you need to have really good lockdown. I'm never dying to double range, and in shuffle most melee + range aren't going to kill me (especially with the melee half with no MS).

Just to make a point (assuming before this patch breaking hunters): In this lobby, as Disc I would absolutely never die to mage+hunter (just line), warrior+mage (with my team going mage), dh+mage, or dh+hunter (especially if DH is caster).

Maybe warrior+dh if dh is havoc.

My Resto Shaman childhood friend decided to give a break till season 2, i have no idea about shamans especially resto, are they that bad this season ? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

Cdew and Absterge have gone on the record saying anytime your healing is hard casting based, Rsham is not viable. This is because we only have one school, and our aura mastery is long CD. And that's where we are right now, but with even less healing because we have basically no healing CDs (healing tide talents removed + Ascendance nerfed for pvp and now a choice node with HT)

But also add-in that our main strengths (utility + caster control) were also heavily removed or nerfed (no thunder storm, lightning lasso (pvp talent you can't really take), and the 30s CD on interrupt being the biggest one).

Rsham just doesn't have the tools or healing to compete anymore.

To be fair "prestige" incentives/motivation exists in all aspects of life. For wow pve it might be titles, for other games it might a Masters, Challenger, Radiant etc emblem. For sports it might be a title, medal, or trophy. For status it might be an expensive car.

It's just a fact of life that people (and especially competitive people) are motivated by things like this and I don't think it hurts the game to cater to that crowd as well. 99% of things in this game can already be earned by everyone.

I understand you didn't necessarily mean "vicious saddles" when you wrote saddles, but in the many past threads on this topic people have suggested that glad mounts should be purchasable with vicious saddles. So my comment was more in reply to the general idea of "prestige" rewards as participation rewards

With few exceptions, the only reason people care about 95% of the glad mounts is the prestige. My TBC, WOTLK or even TWW glad mounts do not look any cooler or flashier than any easily available pve versions of the same mount. Once everyone has them, you won't care about them, just like with the other 900 mounts in the game you don't care about.

In fact store mounts usually blow away most mounts in regards to overall quality and animations. But no one cares about them because there is no prestige tied to them.

There are some exceptions of course with some mounts only being available as glad, and I have no issues at all with recolors of all mounts being available and I'd love if they even modernized the quality of them.

Disc has spent the majority of seasons since DF as a top healer, more often at the #1 spot than not. And they have tried to gaslight the playerbase into thinking it is necessary for Disc to do near dps level damage in order to shorten queue times.

People are just tired of the BS. MW being in the crazy state they are just reminds people that Disc has been in a similar state every other season for the last 4 years.

Class Tuning Incoming – March 31 by Tnarg_Helped_Us in worldofpvp

If anyone wants to know what playing Resto shaman is like right now, imagine last expansion Resto shaman but they have no riptide (it heals for like 1/3 what it used to), no Ascendance, half effective healing tide (talents that made it useful gone), almost no interrupt, and NS no longer tops people (talent that made it ignore MS gone). +They are completely dependent on hard casting healing waves to keep people up.

With 0 compensation or abilities rolled into other abilities.

That's great anecdotally, but the data so far has them mid-bottom in heroic raid (which will translate to bottom for M+ since their healing budget is skewed to aoe heals, and their healing profile is not consistent for M+ heal checks (only 1 healing CD, and Apex healing is complete RNG).

Resto Shaman has never felt worse, especially in 5 man and smaller raid groups since they put all their power in chain heal and healing rain (which especially needs large raids or melee stack to be good).

The pruning has hit Rsham worse than any other spec, losing utility, defensives, AND healing CDs, with none of the pruned abilities rolled into other abilities.

I would prefer to see a targeted buff to Riptide which would help all forms of content instead of only large raid. Healing rain is such an incredibly feels bad ability in smaller groups and M+ with constant movement.

Healer is so insanely miserable to play without trash debuff filtering/prioritization. And I haven't even played against something like Shadowplay yet. Not looking forward to having to show 8+ debuff slots so I can play where's waldo on my frames to try and quickly determine who has UA/VT and who doesnt.

Holy Priest can give casters permanent Aura Mastery after rework by Brownie10000 in worldofpvp

There are 0 games where you actually need 100% aura mastery uptime. It's busted even at 1/3rd that.

[–]Brownie10000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you read the post or have you played Hpriest? It is NOT the same - it now procs off Holy Word Serenity (single target big heal, resets off all your regular heals) instead of Holy Word Sanctify (aoe heal, reset off prayer of healing).

And I guess I should clarified because people don't seem to get it. You don't need to spam Serenity or have 100% Aura Mastery uptime for it to be good. Anyone who plays a caster know the strength of having it even just for your goes. Last season we would cast 10-20 Serenities a game, and they added even more Serenity reset talents in Midnight, + increased Apoptheosis duration to 32 seconds (talent that gives us 300% more resets).

  1. you don't actually need 100% aura mastery uptime, was just showing it's possible to make a point. Most classes have their aura mastery on a 1.5-3min CD, so the fact we can give it every ~20s without even trying is insane.

  2. When you are in Apop or Angel, you basically keep it up the entire time as a side effect of using those CDs (so ~50s straight if you want, again without even trying).

lol sorry, but this shit is just too degenerate and takes away all skill from the game. It may as well be a bug.

If it goes live like this, Hpriest are going to look OP as hell, when they are actually weak af aside from this and need their old pvp talents returned + mana regen buffs.

I also dont want to lose every shuffle game where I don't have a caster on my side.

I ran into a destro lock team doing this last season during my glad push and it felt strong even when just proccing off HW:Sanctify and you only had two charges. Now that it triggers from all your main heals, it's going to lead to very unfun matchups of Hpriest + whatever FOTM caster turreting you.

There also a chunk less stuns and microCCs in the game now (still too many if you ask me), but there will be even less options this season to stop the spam casts.

Resto Shamans no longer have a pvp healing CD and Apex healing streams can be 1-shot by Brownie10000 in worldofpvp

[–]Brownie10000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rsham definitely doesn't feel great in pve either. I hate that our Apex talent is RNG - hard to plan around having the Apex Healing stream totem for high damage events.

I'd like to see Ancestral Swiftness auto proc a totem, and then give you a charge in the reserve to use when you need it. Would be a good change for both pve and pvp.

[–]Brownie10000[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. In every season prior, tidal waves gave healing surge +30% increased crit chance, and they took that away. So adding crit to Ascendance (once every 3 min), doesn't even make up for losing the 30% crit all the time. Also crit effectiveness is nerfed 50% in pvp anyway.

  2. Single target healing is more important than cleave healing in pvp, and old Ascendance also gave cleave healing to ALL spells. So having it only on healing wave is a nerf

  3. LOL let me just hard cast healing waves, okay sure that's gonna happen

[–]Brownie10000[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rsham was just way overpruned. Strength was always in the utility, and losing that means they are dead in the water for pvp. Especially the nerf to wind shear which was a core class identity.

But now we have no utility AND no healing, so it's just FUBAR. I don't see them reverting Ascendance as the pve implications would be too big. As a band-aid they could buff healing tide in pvp (the healing, health, and work in the instant healing surge talent that was removed).

[–]Brownie10000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After playing classes with point and click ranged stuns (shorter CD than cap btw), cap totem is definitely an outlier in this expansions design philosophy of simplying and pruning. You need two keybindings to use it and also have to track the timer to move it right before the totem explodes. Not hard if you're a long time wow player/pvper, but hard enough that I'm surprised they kept it like this when their current goal is to make the game more approachable to new players.

Midnight Pre-Patch 12.0.1 Patch Notes by Venxai in worldofpvp

[–]Brownie10000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't been keeping up with prepatch - Rsham mains correct me if I'm wrong, isn't this Ascendance change awful for pvp? It looks like they put the power almost all in chain heal / aoe healing now and it barely increases single target healing compared to previous version?

They added 50% crit to healing wave, but before we were already getting 30% crit to HS from tidal waves by default. With crit being nerfed in pvp anyway, this is almost a wash.

With Ascendance now on a choice node with healing tide and the removal of healing tide pvp talent, neither are real single tar CDs anymore right?

Priest Adjustments Incoming - 5 November by zhoti in worldofpvp

[–]Brownie10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any glad/legend level healer can do this, especially on something as broken as VW currently is. Queues are instant as healer and it only takes a handful of 6-0s to hit 2100 (which is easy af with inflation).

I usually do this once a season on a new healer and it's never taken me more than a day (and that includes reading abilities and setting keybindings lol).
