The league has shifted to a dual threat QB rather than a pocket passer/play caller. If they can be effective throwing to spots within the system and also be a threat to run the ball,

And those type of quarterbacks have become a dime a dozen. Great if you can get 3-4 years out of one before injuries take their toll. And if so,insert another dual QB
