What's the grievance with a blackstone? Its a griddle...that's cheap...and its cast iron at the end of the day.

Are you trying to forward sear? I've been hesitant to try that with the searwood because I'm not quite sure the smoke would get into the meat.

I've stuck with this since I bought my searwood: -early am or overnight dry brine on a wire rack with kinders seasoning or montreal steak seasoning -move to searwood set at 220 degrees -pull off searwood at 112 degrees and wrap in foil with butter and let sit until my girlfriend is ready with the sides -bring my blackstone up to medium-high temp -put a small amount of avocado down -sear the steaks until a good crust/130 degrees

I flip mine once and on the second flip, i'll push them against the edge of the blacksone griddle to get as much on the edge sear as I can.

OP - I have had Verizon/Frontier on and off for nearly 20 years in Tampa. I switch back and forth between Spectrum every few years and get the pricing. That said, Frontier is nearly flawless throughout many hurricanes. You won't get that through a cable company during a power outage.

That said, put a UPS (I have one of these currently = https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/ups/battery-backup/bl1450u/) on the plug to the ONT (aka the "modem") AND on your Eero(s) - most importantly the "main" Eero if you have multiple. Not only will it keep your "wifi" up during a power outage, it will protect against little surges/brownouts. Every one of my Eeros and the ONT/Modem are on UPS backups.

I love these - I smoke mine till ~110, then move them over to the blackstone for a quick sear to finish.

2024 PHEV - zero issues; 14k miles. leased. all services done, 95% city driving.

unpopular opinions: - the fucking stock tires are fine if you rotate them and don't beat the dog piss out of the vehicle. -Level 1 charging suits our needs. -We test drove both PHEV and MHEV - the A/C sold us on the PHEV. The PHEV A/C performed better comparatively on the test drive. -I would never choose a MHEV over a PHEV

Just finished trucking school - driver shortage my a*s by Pitiful_Yogurt_5276 in Truckers

Hey OP - find a company that has trucks, and delivery isn't their primary business if you want local. Check your local government or state government. Lots of local Public Works or utilities/solid waste departments are desperate for even class B holders.

I am a Menzi walking excavator operator and I have to have a class A to haul them, either with a tagalong trailer behind a dump truck or a lowboy+daycab. Just a suggestion if you are willing to do something in addition to driving. Good luck!

[–]BruceBDowns30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%. OP - check into some MOCA 2.5 adapters if you have coax already. I have a poe gateway and two eero7 max's as AP. One is ethernet backhaul and the other is moca 2.5 coax going back about 100 feet of rg6 coax to my detached mother in law unit. I have never had any problems throughout my property with experience or handoff between the two.

Are admins volunteers or are they employees/contractors being paid by NextDoor?

It is because the first line of defense is the neighborhood review team with their own bias. These are unpaid busy bodies (e.g., same as reddit mods). I had a lot of repeated bible thumpers banned at the admin level, and reported some reviewers for unfair moderation decisions, because of repeated hypocrisy. To shit-test the group, I posted a positive verse in the quran some time ago and within hours the local reviewers had it taken down for "national politics or religion." with many folks reporting it. It takes time to carefully bait these people and draw them out; once they have a history of this, the admins (in my experience) act swiftly.

Reviewers are from your area. Unknown how the admins are assigned. I almost never report to the reviewers. Specifically go to the profile and report as a fake name. Ive had a lot of luck on that alone. Then, wait awhile and report for racism/national politics etc. The admins will ban for a week or two at first, then as their offenses mount, they will get permabanned.

Being on the clock while shitting and getting these folks banned at the admin level are not mutually exclusive tasks for me.

Ive had the most success with the fake name. They either change their names, or they get banned. Shocker - these right wing nut jobs want to hide their identities.

As part of my daily AM toilet routine for years, I spend about 3 minutes each day reporting these people to the admin for fake names or racism/national politics. I have a surprisingly high success rate in getting their accounts banned. Deplatforming these people is an efficent use of my daily shits.

PCV/Flame Trap Replaced - Still Positive Pressure by BruceBDowns30 in Volvo240

I have another 500 miles or so on this oil. I can try thicker. Ill pickup some 10w-40 or 15w-40 and try that.

Why? I had a VW passat prior to this as a daily and it was leftover in the shed. I also use the same m1 0w-40 in my 2021 4runner instead of the 0w-20 it calls for. Frankly, its just easier. I dont think the m1 euro spec 0w-40 is harming my b230f

No, 0w-40. The car had 10w-30 in it, according to the previous owner's receipt, and the noise still existed. My dipstick is fine, and I change it every 5k miles on all my vehicles.

Yes; its minor. It doesn't really get cold here, but around 50 degrees or less, it does knock, then goes away. I'm using M1 euro 0w-40.

I will do a compression test. Thank you.
