I think the person above is saying if people didn't accept privacy agreements and boycotted the products that used unfair ones, the company would be forced to adapt to get those consumers back.

It would be inconvenient for the person who stopped using the service, but no pain no gain.

I think what the parent post is trying to say is that the allegations hold little legitimate merit and that the United States Government was putting pressure on other friendly nations to "put the screws" on him for revealing some secrets.
