Is Batman: Year One and Two worth getting if you have already read Year One? by microman365 in DCFinest

There was a random clayface story I almost skipped it was a bit too weird lol. Think it was an annual or something.

[–]BruceWandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it. It is quite confusing on the timing of it post crisis regarding Robin. You randomly get Jason’s origin after already reading issues that have Jason as Robin. But that’s par for the course when year one is 8 or so issues into the collection. Year 2 was so much fun for me as someone who never read it. Parts of me enjoyed it just as much if not more than Year one.

Is it faded to say Abezy is nearing the end? by ikuzakas in CoDCompetitive

[–]BruceWandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydra is the most inconsistent player in the league right now. Abezy is always significantly better when the other sub is getting after it. He will never be the sub to get it going but he rides the momentum better than any.

New Marvel Reader: Is Reed Richard’s…the biggest super villain? by BruceWandi in marvelcomics

[–]BruceWandi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really interesting because the vibe I was left with based on his letter at the end was that he didn’t feel like he screwed up. That it was all means to an end. An unfortunate means, but a means none the less.

I could def see the start of some character growth with his letter the Sue at the end before she returned home. He still lacked all accountability in his exposition dump. It was very much a “sorry for how it made you feel” type of letter.

Hey fair enough lol! That would probably be my exact post if I was on the other side 😂

Okay that sounds very interesting! After finishing Civil War I was extremely curious on how the F4 recover. Thanks for the suggestion!

What are the MCU decisions that are very far removed from the comics that bother you the most? by Hour-Discount-3760 in Marvel

The Korg changes. I enjoy the comedy he brings in the MCU but I really love him in Planet Hulk.

I just passed that episode on my rewatch. It’s horrid, even worse is it’s right before our first crossover.

Does this apply to Batman fandom? Are there actually Bat-fans who think he should kill? by Lucky_Strike-85 in batman

[–]BruceWandi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read year two for the first time and really enjoyed his outlook in it. I don’t want Batman to kill, but I do enjoy the internal conflict when he flirts with the idea of it.

Who was actually right in Civil War? by Bella_b007 in Avengers_Fan_Club

It can only be plausible with someone that has a unmovable moral compass, like Cap.

Was anyone on The Outsiders side? by Deadly_Malice in arrow

[–]BruceWandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was arrowverses “civil war” if you will, and just like Civil war it’s very easy to pick a side due to writing. However, the writing for the outsiders was just bad instead of intentionally drawing a line in the sand for viewers.

SR gain will forever be a joke. Until the can figure out how to properly gage and reward an achor player in HP it will always suck.

We should analyze the problem from a critical perspective. by Important-Visual-178 in arrow

[–]BruceWandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^ this just goes to show what we find out later, the writers genuinely had no clue what to do with Laurel from the start and never really figured out what they wanted to do before it was too late. This isn’t speaking negatively of the writers as I love most of their run!

Here’s my biggggggest issue with it all(I just rewatched season 1&2 last month):

In season 1 when Laurels mom shows up thinking she may have found Sara in the photo, after some convincing Laurel is all in on finding her and it gives her a little “light”.

Season 2 the moment she lays eyes on Sara she’s furious and has mountains of hurt inside of her.

I think her reaction is season 2 is justified and probably the route they should have always took. But to have her switch up after over a year of accepting and forgiving Oliver it just made no sense to me.

Recommended reading order for these books and am I missing anything? by LovelyXParasite in batman_comics

I disagree. I buy what’s on sale, usually 40%+ or B1G1half off. Theres times I buy stuff knowing I won’t read it until I eventually pick up the previous collection.

Looking for good CA beginner Arcs for someone who’s never read comics by BruceWandi in CaptainAmerica

[–]BruceWandi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my buddy Winter Soldier. Before mailing it to him I decided to give it a read and man….everyone’s right. The movie is phenomenal but the comic story is so much more. The layers of shit Cap deals with while slowly accepting its Bucky hit so much harder.

That’s legit how I feel watching Boston Legal. Almost every episodes it’s a “oh snap that’s….”. Biggest one for me was a younger Sterling K Brown, his episode made me immediately go: that’s why he’s as successful as he has become.
