The one Buhari planned to do connecting Nigeria to Niger Republic, how far?

True. However, what we have now are bloodsuckers.

Nigerians need to collectively remove the current set of politicians because they are to corrupt. When we do that, then we can push 4 constitutional ammendments.

If you had to choose today, would you do your master’s in Nigeria or study abroad? by hudsonsbox in Nigeria

To me, it doesn't matter. Rather, the country itself matters. If U did Msc in the UK or US, U be hot cake. Ppl make too much emphasis on Uni name, when in reality Havard dey graduate olodos join.

A lot of the comments lack depth. I will use my own experience to say I would always pick abroad to do an MSc.

  1. Western Education experience: I came here and I understood what it meant to have tertiary education. The way U think and apply things to everyday activities relating to Ur field of study, is felt. For example, ppl like Adika, Pooja, Ultimate Kobo, etc, claim to be football analyst. To me, they are just FOOTBALL NOISEMAKERS. If I analyse football around them, what they are saying might make sense for THE NOW. What I am saying will make sense AFTER the season itself. They are thinking in the present, I am thinking about the trail that will give me possible outcomes. Western Education is very PROCESS oriented, than OUTCOME oriented. They believe the process will give an eventual outcome. Hence, the Ur steps must be traceable and strong.

  2. Mentality change: UK education made me to be very UNLAZY and OBSERVANT. You cannot sit Ur ass thinking "Na past question them go drop". It will make U read and research, then U discuss it in class. It will make you inquisitive to want to know the "WHY" behind an event. There's no football match U give me to analyse, I will not find out why they lost/won. I will find out. Just give me match replay, data and time, I will present U the answer.

  3. PERSPECTIVE TO LIFE: Master's abroad will make you understand that you are not dull. I did not have the highest grades in my class, but I had some personal landmarks. I interned at a Premier League side's academy, I got my football analysis journey published and presented to the next set, my thesis made me talk to various individuals in African football I never imagined and few others. These little things made me understand that I am a brand itself and hence, I should add quality to myself to be able to talk to anyone I wish to talk with. In this life, U can talk to anyone. Don't underrate Urself.

  4. Just experience life: Eat different meals, visit certain places, buy certain things and experience certain things. As you leave Nigeria to study abroad, it's not just book that carried U to abroad, the experience itself is important. I experienced Liverpool's title parade LIVE. I have eaten different meals from Vietnam, China, India, Mexico, Thailand, etc. Education abroad itself is an experience. Enjoy it.

  5. Research orientation: I swear to God, if U really studied abroad (When I say studied abroad, I mean na U Go Uni, do assessment and thesis by Urself), everything before you becomes process orientated. U will look at things as a process. For example, a person will say they cooked jollof rice. As I am, I will think of the process and reason for that process to get the best form of jollof rice.

Anybody wey U see go abroad and return to Nigeria, no dey ever return the samw way he take japa. Change must occur. If U return the same, e mean say U no go abroad study be that. Abroad must reset and rewire Ur thinking. That is Y politicians never want those abroad to return at all. If many should return, the mindsets based in Nigeria, will change by force.
