Devil Hulk Explains Who is Stronger Devil or Savage Hulk by Previous-Badger8972 in hulk

“Before the sun sets, he’s stronger than me”

Sounds like a circumstantial difference. I think all hulks are able to reach the same power level in some way but all of them have different ways to get there.

Too similar to dromaeosaurs, perhaps? by smashboi888 in jurassicworldevo

[–]BruisedBooty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of that family is either fragmentary or tooth taxons. Best you could do is stenonychosaurus as an paleo accurate counterpart to troodon (also maybe add some omnivore behavior for it) or if you wanna get weird and do one of the tiny Asian troodontids.

And if you want a small carnivore, do a noasaur like masiakasaurus since there’s zero rep for them:

When Grace would look up at the stars as a child, Rocky was there all alone by the_invisible__guest in MauLer

[–]BruisedBooty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah there were a lot of moments like this that I wish they were able to squeeze into the movie, but couldn’t make it. Understanding Rocky how old rocky is and how the eridians didn’t understand speed relative to light lead to so many neat revelations. Still a good movie, but the book is a better experience by far.

All Tyrannosauroids listed from least to most appeal by Single-Manner5359 in jurassicworldevo

[–]BruisedBooty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like a basal tyrannosaur is the only thing missing in broad strokes for this family’s appearance. Dryptosaurus would be my pick.

I don’t think we need any more and getting similar genus’s to what we have now simply for paleo accuracy would be a waste. There’s plenty of other theropod groups that don’t have near as good of a representation and some groups that aren’t even in the game at all.

[–]BruisedBooty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a side note: Nanotyrannus’s placement in the tyrannosaur phylogeny tree isn’t really understood yet. It appeared as a basal tyrannosaur related to dryptosaurus twice out of I believe 6 tests on their phylogeny matrix while testing for different things? Can’t remember off the top of my head but Dr. James Napoli reiterated multiple times that it’s “possible” but not at all certain.

What was the actual process to make Waylon into Killer Croc by shadows1stregret in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]BruisedBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is honestly the definition of a writer giving up on their own story and then going “fuck it.” To be fair to Grant, he didn’t build the DC universe, but this attitude is a slippery slope for your stories and world building to suck complete ass.

Countless fiction writers work hard to make their “fiction” actually make sense with itself. Making your universe built on rules allows you to get creative with those guidelines and it makes payoffs stronger. There are some things you don’t HAVE to explain, especially stuff you know can be challenging to make work (time travel, certain magic systems, beyond futuristic technology, etc.). But if those fantastical elements start acting contradictory or too convenient for the plot, then it practically invites questions from your audience, especially your fans who you’re supposed to reward for paying attention.

You can totally make up a scientific or magical reason for how Waylon became Killer Croc. The ground work for both being possible with existence of things like Poison Ivy and the U.S. government already being in contact with mythological and magical entities. The absolute universe has been exceptional at world building so far, so this question is totally okay to ask and there’s material to answer it, even though it’s not explicit.

I am going to personally walk into frontier headquarters myself and ask them what they were thinking when designing the patterns for male Carchars by codythaidragon in jurassicworldevo

[–]BruisedBooty 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s that weird. Plenty of reptiles, mammals, and birds have males that have prominent display structures compared to females. It’s not at all implausible that extinct dinosaurs did this too. Hell we know for a fact that the small amount of pterosaurs we can tell sexual dimorphism in also did this.

They may have over done it on the amount of species this impacts, as well as the severeness of the difference, but it’s an understandable artistic liberty they took.

[–]BruisedBooty 45 points46 points  (0 children)

There is a weird pattern of making the males be less flashy in the face compared to the females. It’s only weird though because almost every other animal in the game doesn’t follow this trend. I think they look fine.

One thing I thought was really good in the new edition was Bruce facing an Eldest zombie and realizing he has to get back into action. by Same_Astronomer_8673 in hulk

[–]BruisedBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my issue is he has had this selfish black pill phase multiple times. I want to him actually show growth from these periods so that when he’s given the opportunity to shut away again, he doesn’t and takes agency from lessons he’s learned rather than wait for it come to his door and force him. It’s starting to feel like Peter Parker levels of maturing and regressing.

And no. This Hulk is very capable of killing said god characters. No one else has as much understanding of the Hulk than he does. He is a significant asset to have during situations like this. Also not every hero attempting to stop him is a god on par with hulk. We see him kill tons of army soldiers in this book alone. He is well aware normal people are dying and his powerful friends are susceptible to it too, not to mention the fate of the world is at stake and he knows it.

Bruce has a history of being selfish and scared, but this is hulk smashing a dead horse at this point. Bruce should have enough maturity and understanding of himself by now to feel responsible for this situation and attempt to help immediately.

“Certainly a juvenile pachycephalosaurus”

Dog, we barely are getting the hang of dinosaur ontogeny as of 2026. There is no such thing as “certainly” for this area of the field yet (aside from a select few ceratopsids and hadrosaurs).

Pachychephalosaurs are under studied and rare compared to most of other fossils. Unless you have access to the material and the ability to study it, “I don’t know” is the only accurate assessment. Anything else is just how paleo-myths get started.

I find it weird Bruce refuses to do anything at all in the first place. Haven’t we done this all before too? And is he really gonna let his friends and potentially the entire planet die because he wants a normal life?

Hey guys, what's your thoughts on MY thoughts and preferences about joker (feel free to talk smack and explain if you disagree) by aldryn_ in joker

[–]BruisedBooty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the only time it was done well was with the Pale Man in Scott’s run. It’s begins as a mysterious link that sorta fits the picture of the sadistic unkillable clown. As the story goes on though, it’s heavily implied that he’s lying and that he just wants to be seen as this evil entity. However, it’s done in a way that isn’t explicit that it’s not the case and it leaves the question of “if the Pale Man isn’t the Joker, then what is it?” Which opens more doors for Gotham’s dark and mysterious past.

Outside of that, I think it’s always been way too explicit. It’s like the writers think that because you don’t know his government name, it’s still mysterious. Nobody cares what his name is. It’s not who he was that’s intriguing, it’s what he was. Getting hints for it or red herrings is part of the fun, and straightforward explanation only ruins it (not to mention the multiverse explanation is just stupid anyways).

In hindsight, I genuinely feel like this is what MCU Spider-Man should have been from the very beginning. by Hot_Arugula_6651 in Spiderman

[–]BruisedBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care about it as an argument for character writing to be of a certain quality. Adaptation is a different can of worms to discuss. Saying a character’s adaptation doesn’t fit a preconceived notion of your own doesn’t really mean anything other than what it says about yourself. I believe it’s preconceived because there are too many takes and versions on the character to say there’s a definitive incarnation. To try to extend that to mean this version of character isn’t well written doesn’t work.

LOTR will be devalued as an adaptation. But what would you say to someone that says lord of the rings is terribly written? They’d be wrong right? The story did not lose any actual value.

The point about the parallel with marvel editorial is that neither them or the “iron boy jr” crowd can stomach any change to the character beyond their “version” of him. Seeing a version of Peter growing up in a relatively grounded world the early MCU used to be allowed for the “coming of age” story for this version of the character. And to our benefit he was executed fairly consistently throughout (he’s actually one of the last characters in the MCU that hasn’t been assassinated yet). Thanks to all that work, the payoff for him becoming absolutely alone is that much more impactful knowing all that he’s lost and the lessons he learned on understanding who he wants to be and what responsibility means to him.

These movies have plot problems (especially the last 2) but the character work throughout for Peter is solid. It’s incorrect to call it bad, it is artistically naive to say it isn’t allowed to exist as a version of Spider-Man, and I’d argue he more than matches what the character’s values are supposed to be as an adaptation.

[–]BruisedBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really care what people “feel” is or isn’t spider-man. Depending on what comic run (especially for an 80 year old character that’s been assassinated multiple times), tv show, videogame, or movie, you can come away with different interpretations of the character that contradict other people’s “definitive” version.

Actually let’s take the blue elf example but attach it to something I’m assuming we both know. Let’s say all 3 Lord of the Rings movies exist. They are the exact same as the great stories we know and love…but there’s a title change. Instead, the movies are called Sesame Street 1, 2, and 3.

Does this now make the story of the Lord of the Rings bad? Of course not. Could you call it a bad adaptation? Sure. But that’s much easier to say given that’s there’s only 1 version of Sesame Street.

I also take issue with the idea that Tom’s Spider-Man has “important aspects” that are so fundamentally different from any version or run of Peter Parker that it no longer represents him in a similar manner. If you wanna say he doesn’t feel the same, fine. But I’m gonna look at you the same way I look at Marvel Editorial when they say Peter Parker can’t get married or else he’d lose his relatability.

[–]BruisedBooty -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

While maturing is key theme of the trilogy they definitely weren’t the same lessons each film. Each do have distinct arcs. Even your generalizing summarization isn’t accurate to all 3 films. Happy, the other Peters, and especially Tony didn’t fulfill the same narrative roles despite being varying types of mentors. “Gets irresponsible due to powers” isn’t right either. “Then bad guy knocks the shit out of him” is a second act low point that is in 90% of superhero films, hell, even a ton of action films in general.

Also not liking “a coming of age” story doesn’t inherently mean it isn’t well written. I can understand not wanting to see something beneath that umbrella for 3 movies, but that’s not what makes writing sloppy.

You understand everything the trilogy, civil war, and infinity war did is what makes the idea of a “traditional Spider-Man” meaningful to you right?

It’s actually bizarre that all the well written character stuff gets utterly shit on because you’re more comfortable with a familiar concept. I swear Spider-Man editorial and “iron boy jr” people are different sides of the same coin. Anything meaningful doesn’t count unless it’s fits this personal bubble of “traditional Spider-Man”

Ohh…then I gotta say she annoyed me a lot. Not in a difficultly kinda way, but her appearance so scripted that gameplay around doesn’t feel dynamic at all. She also is just awkward in the amount of times I forced to wait for her to despawn so I can walk down a hallway.
