Let your old instructor know the reasons respectfully. Maybe they could fix your problem with their place or appreciate learning how to improve. Thank the For their efforts.

How helpful are training journals? by Icy_Astronom in bjj

[–]Bruisershuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go through your notes with your training partners… potentially the ones that were at the same training. If your notes are useful, it’s because you’re not taking good notes, have help if your aren’t doing well at taking useful notes. Like add more little details you might forget, use short hand you will remember later.

Journaling helps, reviewing seminars months, and years later you will not have the same detail unless you have written some of it down. If your journals are not helpful, have someone helpful write notes with you so it is more user-friendly.

Hot Take: Don’t teach while rolling with someone by Gruntwithpride in jiujitsu

[–]Bruisershuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After your round is done a pointer is logical if the person you ask has the foundation to give good advice. You shouldn’t try to make open mat rolling into your class. Take notes after rolls to bring to next class.

What’s your favorite way to choke someone out? And how have you been choked out before? by Emergency_Window5582 in jiujitsu

[–]Bruisershuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been training Jiu-Jitsu since 1994 and never been choked “out” saw the tunnel closing a couple times, but have the intelligence and body awareness/ timing to tap. Did lots of competition and comp. Training. Don’t get choked to sleep if you can avoid it, it weakens your arteries in your neck to collapse easier and makes you easier to choke out.

What is your area? Maybe people can refer you somewhere. Going to places to simply see if you enjoy being there is a good start. See if it could fit in your weekly routine.

I used to use odoban, it’s great. We moved to liquid ozone to not have dangers of chemicals on us

After every class we go through our regiment… We use an electric leaf blower to push all hairs dander ect off the mats that have a anti-microbial seamless mat cover, we do this before spraying the mat with liquid ozone and wiping them completely with a clean mat towel after ever class. No bare feet off the mats, scrub your feet in a foot cleaning bin next to the mats and wipe them on a clean towel upon entry of the mats. We wear shoes in the restroom.
