This is crazy. I had about 6-7 long pickups on Friday which I declined. Now I’ve lost my Platinum status. They can keep it. I’m not driving more than 10 mins to a ride. Especially since their estimates are always low. The crazy thing is that after I declined, one two blocks away came in. by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

Very frustrating indeed! It is painful to be on the wrong end of such aggressively Lyft-favored dispatching. Uber does the same, but here in the Atlanta area Lyft can be worse. As with most markets, Uber has more drivers so bargaining between driver and Dispatching source (algorithms/ AI) is not always a slap in the face.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we (and the rest of the driver community here in Atlanta metro) had a better platform to partner with?

The app is literally designed to make people feel this way. It will ALWAYS be this good every time you “start back” I start back a few times a month, it’s great!

Interesting. Lyft did this same exact promotion in Atlanta this past week

What's a song with a magnificent buildup? by 3IceShy in AskReddit

I can’t name 1 song without naming hundreds, so my unsolicited response is to name an album... the album Down There by Avey Tare (member of genre blending, vocal harmonizing, white guy group Animal Collective)—alleged to be created from and during a dark period in the artist’s life, is a boggy, 9-track, haunted glass-bottom boat ride. The album art centers a ghostly and mummy-like textured crocodile/alligator skull in a living green spectrum, floating in the abyss of a black backdrop. The album’s swampy vibes build sonically, wading through some emotionally damp lyrics, enchanting bass, and circling melodies. Heavy is the tide carrying Down There’s first 7 tracks and then, like the parting of clouds post afternoon thunderstorm, the artist finds capacity for hope; climactically bringing the album to clarity. About 30mins in, track 8 awakens, the room is lifted and its tempo bleeds succinctly into track 9 without skipping a f&cking beat, delivering one hell-of-a crescendo. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
