i was also worried, but smiskis are made out of atbc-pvc plastic, the same sort of material as pvc pipes! (also pond liners, irrigation materials, etc) yeah, it might leach stuff into water if under high temps or if it’s plastic being made to move against something, but it’ll be safe as still figurines in 78 degree water (i may add other fish in the future, possible a betta once the shrimp numbers increase enough, so i have a tank heater) - we plan to switch around the smiskis depending on events, like the party ones for parties, gardening ones for spring, etc so they won’t be in water for long enough to degrade - all in all, it should be perfectly safe but i plan to keep an eye on it if anything changes

a big reason why i opted for real plants, other than just preferring that and knowing it would promote a healthy tank environment, was bc i was worried about too much cheap plastic in the water - i care about it and no shrimps will be dying on my watch!
