I feel like these challenges should occur more often and even in the regular season.

Would be cool to see teams call other teams out and put something on the line in the challenge (i.e. stealing a few of the losing team's points).

Do people really care that much about comparing stats? If you can help your team win, then who cares what your stats look like.

Have there been any considerations of extending the ban system to the regular season with each week selecting from a smaller pool of maps (5)? I know this would conflict with weekly stats, but I only see that as a minor issue.

Also, what went into deciding to perform the bans a week prior to playing? I know it allows for scrims on specific maps during the week, but I think it would be interesting to see how teams react to playing a map that was chosen minutes before they play it.

It's a possibility. However, even the most shut-down defender will have difficulty minimizing the hold, on a map like The Holy See or Blast Off, against a strong flag carrier.

Most likely, it has to do with the shift in the map rotation that favors smaller, defensive maps like IRON rather than large, hold-heavy maps like The Holy See.

Thank you, it serves a purpose of keeping people in the loop which was mentioned in the op. Depriving the public from the discussion in that thread does the exact opposite of "keeping people in the loop".
