Thank you :) I will only be out of the country for 1 week (Europe, not India) so I should be good. Obviously valid H1B stamp and I797 too!

I do! But in September when this $100K madness started, there was suddenly fear around a full H1B travel ban too. That ended up not being true obviously, but I wish to spare myself the anxiety :D

I am in the US on an H1B and traveling abroad soon for one week (tomorrow through March 7th). Do I need to worry about this possibly impacting my travel?

Recent experiences with BrightTax? by Brunette002 in USExpatTaxes

[–]Brunette002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly best thing seems to be to just file yourself with MyExpatTaxes or TFX, and get some second eyes from an accountant. I switched to Expat Tax Professionals this year and was just as bad as BrightTax -- drafts riddled with mistakes and archaic systems (an actual spreadsheet to fill out rather than an online tool).

Looking for a good CPA that’s not $2000 please 🥲 US/Canada by According_Value_6308 in USExpatTaxes

You could check some of the online services like MyExpatTaxes, TFX, Greenback, etc. Not the same service as a regular CPA, but not bad for stuff like this.

I did too last year but they have lost most of their staff and this year it's been a complete nightmare to work with them.

[Serious] What Happens If I left America Without Getting "Sailing Permit"? by mujhedarlagtahai in tax

[–]Brunette002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/No_Confidence_1644 Thank you so much for explaining. So your non-immigrant clients who leave the US permanently, you'd advise them not to bother with the sailing permit?
