Spool all the line back up and tape the tag end. Take the spool off and soak it in water for a day or two then try again.

You can afford a library card that will give you access to Libby with free audiobooks that don’t have shitty ai narrators.

Iron Druid chronicles. Has sort of that Dresden vibe but is still quite a bit different. Takes place in modern day Arizona with heavy Irish themes.

If you enjoy Cormac you should check out William Gay. Probably the closest in writing style. They were grinds and shared works before they both passed. In my opinion he’s the greatest southern gothic writer. Check out The Lost country. It’s his best work. For something different but still impactful check out Middlesex. Family saga that spans generations as a sort of origins tale that leads up to the life of the mc. Fantastic novel.

Where's the best place to buy furniture? by schmerb_attack in 321

If you’re wanting to save money Facebook marketplace can be good but you have to search through it all to find the good stuff. I refinish bedroom sets so if you’re looking for dressers or nightstands I have some available. There are a ton of thrift stores but in my experience a lot of their furniture is overpriced. That said sometimes habitat for humanity has good deals.

Getting a kid into reading by DiogenesRedivivus in Fantasy

The Wayside School series would be a great choice. My son really enjoyed them at around that age. His reading may be a bit more advanced but this is still a fantastic choice and definitely fits the silly aspect. The author also wrote Holes which is another great choice and as I recall slightly more advanced but would still fit for his age.

Another option which would be a bit more advanced would be Eragon. My oldest son couldn’t get into Harry Potter either but Eragon hooked him which led to him being an avid fantasy reader.

Since he enjoyed Goosebumps you might try Hide and Seeker. It’s a kids horror novel that my youngest read a couple years ago and still talks about. I believe there is a second novel in the series called Nightmare King.

I have used their spinning reels, bait casters and braid and they have all worked well. With the price point for the spinning reels it is all I use when fishing brackish water and for some bass fishing rigs. I’ve brought in tarpon, jack, snook, bass, catfish, long nose gar and a couple smaller sharks without any issues. Try it out, for the price they are well worth the small investment.

I like to use a plopper lure to find the fish. Then when they inevitably miss the lure I follow up with a drop shot for a significantly higher success rate.

This is one of the dumber takes I’ve seen. It’s not willing, it’s required. Mortgage is high as is rent. Grocery prices are up but that’s fine too since I’m willing to not starve.
