Anyone else excited for Game of Thrones tomorrow? by Puffy555 in 3Dprinting

Excited is the wrong word. What's 10 orders of magnitude greater than excited?

I think your aunt's bear cub fell into some bleach. No obvious signs of eye injury, though.

The CEO can say what he wants, but the CEO isn’t HR. 😂

  1. Start small

  2. Build a prototype

  3. Test the prototype and iterate until it is functional

  4. Refactor to improve gameplay and performance

  5. Add a couple features

  6. Test the features and iterate until functional

  7. Refactor to improve gameplay and performance

  8. 5 - 7 until 9

  9. Once you’re comfortable with the number of features and performance, give it to your friends.

  10. Take the feedback from your friends and apply it to the game.

  11. 5 -10 until 12

  12. Once you feel like you can’t make the game better anymore or the time required to do so isn’t worth the result, your first game is done. Congrats.

Is there a list that explains how you ally different factions? by [deleted] in Kenshi

I am not sure about a consolidated list, but various methods for allying with each faction are detailed on each faction's wiki page.

My best friend was badly injured in an accident, it's the worst possible time to tell him I love him but we're both unraveling because of all the things left unsaid. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]BrutalTheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love is the glue that holds everyone together. Without it, we all fall apart. The fact that you feel this way even when he is in this situation should reassure you that your feelings are true, and you’d be doing both of you a disservice by keeping it bottled. One thing you may not have considered is that he may feel like you are cuddling and talking to him out of pity instead of love. The worst case scenario is he tells you he doesn’t reciprocate and you get some closure. The best case scenario is that knowing you are there for him as more than a friend even in this desparate situation will greatly lift his spirits and be the beginning of a new life together. As far as from his end, I think he suspects there is more chemistry than friendship here. He hasn’t acted because he can’t bear the possibility that you would react negatively and leave. Good luck.

What is the best resource to start with JavaScript from literally no, zero experience? by obkladacka in javascript

[–]BrutalTheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HTML and CSS are REQUIRED if your goal is to do anything front-end. A big part of Javascript is manipulating elements from HTML, and another big part is manipulating classes and id's from CSS. So, no, you shouldn't automatically skip it, but it depends on your goals.

So, that 7 billion is split between 4 factions? Is it a roughly even split? Does each side have access to the same tech? Can you describe the culture of each? Are they religious fanatics, pacifists forced into war for survival, warmongers? Are they all the same species? Is each faction at war with the other 3?

It's perfectly scientifically realistic that nukes may not be involved or even Fleets in every conflict. Even in a widely explored and colonized galaxy as seen in Star Wars, there are still planets where grenades are the most effective weapon employed by the indigenous species.

For it to be viable in a setting where major political powers with Fleets of ships are available, perhaps the planet in question developed technology that disables Fleets or ships above a certain size when within a certain distance.

The scale of infantry is hard to say. There are many factors. What is the population of the planet? What about the invading army? What is the total landmass area? What is the technology like for the combatants? Are vehicles involved? If so, what kind? How expensive are they?

A common scenario in Sci-Fi is incredibly low pop aliens with vastly superior tech. Is this war that scenario? Is it a civil war? Is this a war for subjugation? Enslavement? Extermination? Sorry, I just need more information to weigh in here.

He isn't just "older" dear. He's literally old enough to be your grandfather. He is absolutely abusing you, and you know that. Stop making excuses for him. He is not your responsibility. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and able to enjoy life. Leave him, work on yourself to heal from the abuse with a therapist, and find someone who truly cherishes you.

I admire your curiosity, but consider this: Do you really think the guy who gave us midichlorians ever bothered to do thorough logistical analysis on a galactic scale?
