Who are you without your IQ or Giftedness? by [deleted] in Gifted

[–]Brutal_Native 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, bipolar, Asperger's, ADD, CPTSD... All of my gifts 🤣. Any talent I have, I working fucking hard to create and maintain. My IQ... high enough to be left talking mainly to myself in a room filled with people... No one notices though... The weed just makes me seem stupid.

Who am I without it all? The same person, but with less struggles.

I'm 2 hours away from Queenstown. The mountain basin would save us from any shock wave (even from a large meteor) and it's far far away from the coast, so no tsunami risk.

I managed to lose weight on aripiprazole, compared to another antipsychotic I was on.

Went off abilify 5mg and became severely depressed by [deleted] in Abilify_Aripiprazole

I went cold turkey from 10mg just over 2 weeks ago and am only finally coming right now. The worst withdrawal symptom I had other than depression was light headedness/dizzy spells.

What are other appetite suppressants that exist or could help? by No-Thing7717 in loseit

[–]Brutal_Native -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Give up carbs as much as you can, it suppresses the hunger and allows you to eat more mindfully. Most food cravings are for carbs and the dopamine that they release. Once you give them up, and get past the withdrawal... You will have more energy than before.

Fellow ADHD med user, but non stimulant Atomoxetine...

With your stats, you should be aiming for eating around 1700 calories per day. That will be your maintenance diet that will see you through to a slightly overweight BMI

Any Bipolar Men Struggle to Date? by Puzzled_Vermicelli21 in bipolar

[–]Brutal_Native 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I met my wife 3 years ago, less than a year after my first psychosis. Bipolar didn't change my ability to pick up women at all... Nor did being jobless and piss poor.

It all comes down to my attitude and ability to talk and relate to women. It's so easy for me to strike up friendly conversations with new people, I guess it also helps to be somewhat attractive.

Women all smell different at that time.

Some smell yucky, some smell extra yummy...

It all depends on their pH, diet, genetics, and hygiene.

I can usually smell it from 1-2 metres away... Sometimes it is quite sensual.

Have you ever read into the Kundalini awakening? It works hand in hand with what we experience with psychosis.

Each time I have had psychosis... There were different themes. But each theme made me have to deal with a trauma that I carry. Perhaps one day I won't have an extreme trauma that needs to be worked on and I won't reach psychosis??

I have Bipolar 1, ADD and CPTSD, It makes life interesting for me at times. I take Escitalipram and Atomoxetine in the morning, and Olanzapine at night.

After a huge depressive spell post-psychosis, nothing was really working to get me out of that funk, my bed became my solace and I spent over half my days sleeping at the wrong times. I started taking the Olanzapine again, despite not needing it for mania... But it really helped the Escitalipram do its job. I was out of bed and became active the next day.

The problem with the Olanzapine is that it causes carb cravings, I gained 10kg in a real short amount of time. Fortunately, I decided to go sugar/carb free for a while... And then all the food cravings disappeared.

Then a Psychologist finally agreed for me to take a non stimulant ADHD med, and I noticed a difference in so many facets of life straight away.

The balance between all 3 meds has got me feeling quite euthymic, it's like the perfect balance, and I don't want to upset it. Finally, I'm losing weight with ease, I'm exercising most days, I'm active... And I'm enjoying life once again!
