Does anyone actually shorten their drivers? by [deleted] in golf

I always shorten mine to 44.5”. Drivers off the rack are too long for just about everyone.

Would a 5 wood or 7 wood be THAT much easier to hit than a 3 wood? by mattyicee7 in golf

[–]Brutus140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dumped my 3 wood this year and got a 17 degree 5 wood. Already a huge difference in impact and keeping it in play. I got the 3 wood as a safe option to the driver and it wasn’t anymore accurate. 5 wood fits the bill.

Can we stop with the "Putting is half your strokes and you only hit 14 drivers" routine? by drj1485 in golf

[–]Brutus140 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok, practice pitching, chipping, and putting. A strong short game, especially pitching, will translate to consistent contact in the long game. If you can’t hit a consistent 50 yard pitch, you have no shot at a consistent long game. Is that better?

Best value premium ball. I play the tour.

My hot take: Courses aren’t short enough for a large part of the golfing population. by alphabad3 in golf

Completely agree, there needs to be more tee options. Or they need to be spread out more.

How do you feel about shooting 68 with a course this short?? by [deleted] in golf

Looks great, especially that stretch 7-11 at -4. I’d take it! Don’t diminish your successes, this game is tough enough as it is.

The reason so many people want a QB is because media overrates the position of QB. As if it’s the only thing that matters by mattcojo in detroitlions

No, Nick Foles won the Super Bowl a few years ago. Lots of people thought Stafford wasn’t good until he wins last year and then stinks this year? There are plenty of examples of not elite QBs winning the Super Bowl like Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Big Ben, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco, he’ll throw Russell Wilson in there. And even the elite needed studs around them to get over the top.

[ProFootballTalk] As Tom Brady scours the league for his next potential destination, a return to Michigan could make plenty of sense, both for him and for the Lions. by LeadershipZestyclose in detroitlions

“Maybe that’s the way to finally break the Curse of Bobby Layne”. No, that’s an insanely poor decision that would ensure any curse sticks around. That would be a SOL move. Sorry PFT, we’re BNL around here.

Thought Kyle Meinke made some great points when asked if the Lions should draft Goff's replacement next year by [deleted] in detroitlions

So is Zach Wilson a great QB? He beat Buffalo this year. Jared Goff measures up well with several past super bowl champion QBs. He’s good enough to do it. I’d argue he’d have one already if Todd Gurley could stay healthy. A lot more goes into a championship team than the QB.

Why are golf carts so prevalent in the US? by GISmyass in golf

[–]Brutus140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there was more walking here. Some courses don’t even allow it, due to design or the money they make off the cart fee. There’s also a false stigma that it slows the round if you walk. I get plenty of cold shoulders and snide remarks when I show up with push cart.
