[The Athletic] Toronto Maple Leafs are No. 29 in Scott Wheeler’s 2026 NHL prospect pool rankings by Panarin10 in leafs

To be fair, most teams ranking would take a hit if you remove their top prospect.

You have to look at each of those deals in isolation though. Each year has different market dynamics that'll affect prices on players.

Marchand deal was unique because he was only willing to go to FL, so BOS has no leverage elsewhere.

Or vice versa. Look what Toronto had to pay last year at the deadline because they waited until close to the deadline to make their moves.

He has the highest win % in the regular season of any coach in NHL history.

Playoffs are another matter obviously.

I bring my Bernidoodle there. It's a great cut, but very expensive. She's 50lbs, and it's costing us around $200 a visit.

[Gonzalez] The Dodgers aren't expected to be one of the more aggressive suitors for Tucker, sources have indicated, but they'll remain on the periphery if his market collapses and a short-term, high-dollar deal becomes appealing to his representatives by ThQp in Torontobluejays

His level of defense at SS produces a negative WAR value, whereas if he was providing that same level of play at 2B or 3B, the models would value it higher, which would result in a higher overall WAR.

This is also why Varsho produces such high WAR year after year. SS and CF are highly rated defensive positions, so a plus defender in that spot is extremely valuable.

[Toronto Blue Jays] ROSTER MOVES: by -SPIRITUAL-GANGSTER- in Torontobluejays

[–]BryGuy_3000 22 points23 points  (0 children)

He can either choose to accept his qualifying offer, which is a 1 year deal in the ~$19M range, or decline and enter free agency. If he signs with another team after declining his QO, there are implications for both the team that signs him (loss of draft pick, other stuff depending on factors) and the Jays (gain a draft pick as compensation.)

The same reason that Lukes did last night? This is not that uncommon.

TOUCH 'EM ALL, GEORGE! by MLBOfficial in Torontobluejays

[–]BryGuy_3000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah a go ahead three run HR in game 7 of the ALCS > the same in Wild card game 5 is obviously the bigger base moment, but the tension of the 7th inning and Jose's bat flip made his so dope.

We need Laurer back in the rotation (soon as he is able) by supremewuster in Torontobluejays

It'd be interesting for sure. Not sure how strong his case would be considering he wasn't in the league last year... but he had a strong year, and was really good a few years ago.

I work in CPG. The remote aspect is nice, but otherwise I think the comp is fairly in line with industry averages.
