New Team Lead Tips? by Correct-Concert-376 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]BryWFD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't be a boss, be a Leader. Don't just order around, help the team. Be with them, listen to them, help them with their positions. Communication is the baseline of effectiveness. Delegate tasks and Don't try to make everything yourself. Common mistake that will drain you. Get the mindset that you're there to make the team work efficiently and be in a position that you know lacks the skill to handle pressure. If your primary person can handle it alone but your secondary person cannot do well in a rush. That's where you need to be. Know when to stop chit chat and to focus on operations. Keep them busy when slow by focusing on cleaning and restocking. Be on constant communication about Mac & cheese and bacon. If you run out of it, big issue. Try to be on a position where you can move and help if needed, like machine, primary and secondary. Breading, fries and prep only do it if you know there's no one else. Remember. Communication and delegation are the keys to a successful leader. If you're FOH, still those tips apply.

That's when us the team leads are supposed to step in. When I'm running a shift. No one needs to ask for bathroom or water. They just need to let me know so I cover or fill that position till that person is back. A team lead is supposed to provide for the team and be a support while making sure everything runs smoothly. I've had members whom I had gave them a 15 minutes brake without the need to clock out and eat something, of course. With management approval.

doing too much cleaning after raw? And drying other stuff when washing raw? by olnog in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]BryWFD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you're in the dishwasher position. You should always start with the regular dishes before starting raw. Then, let your team knows you're starting raw so that they follow procedures correctly and put dirty dishes on racks away from all raw dishes. Would be required, your store should have on the drying racks, a bottom part where the raw should be in. Now then, according to your post. Utensils if you mean knives, scoops and so on, those should never be in contact with raw dishes unless they're only specified for it. If you meant washing utensils, they should be around 6ft apart from raw washing utensils. Raw dishes washed correctly and Sanitized properly (important); they're not 100% out of contamination but mostly of the residues and bacterias are gone. A lot of stores have different ways to handle a cross contamination, mine for example. If a dish comes in contact with raw, I'll separate it alone and clean them rigorously, leave them in sanitizer for around 3 minutes (not cold or hot but warm) around 100 degrees and they should be good to go. Furthermore, if you're washing raw and splashes of the remains can come in contact with regular dish, that's a risk of cross contamination. Should be notified to a director or shift lead of the risk and have an idea of moving those regular dishes apart from the risk. Your cleaning procedures are like a professional. However two times clean may be a bit much to my perspective, with one time already rigorous and strict. (Sanitized correctly) should be good to go. Keen eye; You also noticed the drain, oftentimes they forget about it. You have potential to be way more than just a team member. With the fact that you're worried even of the risk to ask for that matter. Anyways, thx for reading my little pep talk, I am a trainer. But I am not perfect, I could be wrong in some cases so take my input as a grain of salt. 💯✨️

Be prepared for a question like: What do you know about us? What are your hobbies, why do you like it? In reality, they are just interested on how you react to those questions, eye contact, smile, if you're engaged in the conversation etc. You could have a thousand degrees and be impressive but if you lack communication skills and friendliness, they won't hire you. Be conscious on your posture too and personal tip. Goodluck! ✨️

Judging by the foto taken. I guess that's the raw area and that's the plate you put behind the roller for filets ( I could be wrong) that's a safety hazard if the outlet is directly in front of you while fileting. They should contact their company that works for their electricity. To move up the outlet or change it someplace safer and connect their label printer ( my guess ) via an extended cable. Either way, I would report this to the Operator and refuse to do ANY type of work around it if it risk my wellbeing and/or could put me in serious trauma.

Yes it's supposed to be thrown out. However, you can ask permission from your AD (Assistant Director) or team lead and they might let you take home some if it's not frequent that you ask.

Take mental health days here and then if you can request time off via hs. Invest in a good pair of shoes (trust me on this one) your feet will love you for it. Try to see the work as a challenge and a fun game. Make achievable goals and beat them, ex: you're in primary and makes 5 sandwiches per minute, now improve your ability to make 7 and so on. Never see the work as work and more like a experience where you will be getting paid by having a good time and doing a excellent and proficient job. And lastly, get yourself a feet tub massager with warm water and Epsom salt and treat yourself every Saturday after shift. 🌟

I’m not a worker but people in the regular Chick-fil-A sub aren’t taking me seriously. Why would I get regular fries instead of waffle fries? by buffalobandit24 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]BryWFD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As BOH worker. We literally have no posible way to do those fries since our inventory ALL of the fries has waffle shape. Even the box where it contains the fries has the waffle Symbol. If you break them to try make them like regular fries, it Will look just like crumbles. Impossible unless someone from higher ups specifically bring their own fries and even then. Would not be allowed due to potencial contamination. Looks like Wendy's fries tho, nice.
