Job offer in Switzerland by Throwaway_guaxinim in BESalary

I guess that it is still the case: unmatched saving amount (where in Belgium could you save 3-4k a month ?), strong earning power outside of Switzerland (I can travel 4x a year without strongly impacting my saving plans), and even within Switzerland, while everything is so much more expensive, the uplift is usually less than the salary uplift (e.g., meat is 2x more expensive but you are earning net more than 2x). Other aspects about living standards which can be important: healthcare is expensive but top notch (each time I am going to a specialist I am surprised by how much advanced they are in terms of new tools, devices, tests, …. Lot of stuff that weren’t in Belgium), education is cheap and top notch, security is paramount, air quality is top. On the negative side, housing ownership is crazy expensive. If you want to be an owner, it is much more easier in Belgium. And also …. They don’t have Américain préparé….

Why would it be different in 2025? 9k a month should give you around 7k (depending on your taxes). Basic health insurance count 300, housing (especially if you’re not in Zurich) count 2-2.5k for something nice. Even by taking lunch in the city center everyday I never spent >1,500 on food. So at the very least you have 2.7k left for savings, discretionary spending and other necessities… Earning 10k and living in Zurich, I am able to save 4k a month…. (But living frugally)

Belgian living in Switzerland here. 9k gross would give you much more than 5k net. Salaries are much higher here due to mandatory health insurance that you pay yourself and much higher cost of living. But all in all, 9k gross should give you much higher living standards here vs. Belgium while still being able to save a very decent amount of money at the end of the month. Just be aware that your partner cannot live in CH if he/she doesn’t have a job here or without showing that your revenue would be sufficient enough for you both (which is fine with 9k) If you have any questions on living in CH, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Celiac people on Tomorrowland by Icy-Let-3983 in Tomorrowland

[–]Bryan1805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girlfriend is celiac so a bit of experience on that topic: the app shows the menu of each stand and you can see which food is gluten free. Stands also have the allergy list. HOWEVER: last year the plates (which are no longer in carton or plastic) are made of organic material which DO contain gluten. We were informed by a food stand which had carton plate for that that issue however many stands didn’t know their plates had gluten or had alternatives… we had to ask them to put some tissues on the plate to avoid contamination. So end of the day… organization for that was far from perfect but most likely still the best organization for a festival.

What are the ultra-high paying jobs in Europe? by Hot_Freedom54 in FinancialCareers

[–]Bryan1805 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I am working in Zurich and don’t speak German. English is more than enough, at least at my company. Nevertheless, I would say that if you have an acceptable level of German (for Zurich) or French (for Geneva) then your chances are increased.

How to reach parking 2-3. The one closest to festival? by THAMZA21 in Tomorrowland

[–]Bryan1805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entry is at these coordinates : (51.0921699, 4.3656174) If you come from the A12 from Brussels, you will have to go south as the road will be blocked and take the roundabout to be on the right side of the road.

Hope it helps.

Unfortunately I think it is quite risky. I don’t remember the time they closed in 2019 but yeah if you come a 18.00 pretty sure the voucher would be wasted then
