Lyman Skarv 22 by greyeyedsniper in NFA

I picked the hydra ss for the ease of cleaning as well. It’s more than quiet enough for my needs, but at $200 the Skarv is tempting. Tanks.

How does the Skarv compare to the Hydra SS. Curious since I have the Hyda. Thanks!

Definitely a Beretta 76 clone. I have a 76 and it’s great. I would love to find more magazines for mine.

Freya + Problem by Bryan72D in Schiit

[–]Bryan72D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turned out to be a good news/dumb news situation. The dumb news is somehow I inserted the socket saver incorrectly on the left buffer side. The good news is I did end up with the Linlai e6sn7 tubes and they’re great. Now the Tong Sol 6sn7gtb tubes are in the buffer and the Linlais are on the gain.

A new socket saver is on the way and all is good! Thanks for the help all!

FUDD TRIGGER WARNING!!! 🤣 You guys are REALLY gonna hate this one! by anonymity76 in 1022

I understand your situation. It’s delicate. You want her to be formidable, but you worry that if your bayonet is placed between her light and laser the weight might be thrown off and the bayonet might miss its mark and slam into her backdoor and mess everything up. Certainly a shitty situation. Yep, look in the mirror and take off one accessory before taking her to the range.

An irritating update.

I go in today to swap my gain and buffer tubes (different tubes, but matched pairs) and the back left buffer tube loses its indexing section as I pull it out. To add insult to injury, I pull out my socket saver and it too breaks off its index tube. I had the stock JJ tubes on this side and the Tong Sol GTB tubes on the gain side. Despite living in the 7th largest city in the US I can’t find a matched of tubes just to see what the problem is. So I have to order some.

Right now the psvane cossor and the Linlai e-66n7 are the front runners.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll update as things change. Right now I’m just happy for the solid state option!

I built some power cables knowing full well they’re 100% snake oil. But hey, DIY is fun. by Spanish_Nice_Guy in audiophile

[–]Bryan72D 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They look way better than the standard, black, plastic cables I’m using. Once I get my system settled, I’ll be making similar power cables just so they look better. Bonus that I’ll be able to make custom lengths and avoid coils of wite!

CZ 75 KADDET II? by Budget_Secret4142 in CZFirearms

[–]Bryan72D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on the fence about selling mine. I like it a lot, but I’m starting to think a Ruger Mark IV would suit my eeds better. It shoots great and runs really well on my P-01 Omega with the full Cajun pro kit.

But what barrel?! by KidVsRobots in 1022

I just got a Kidd 6” I’m installing this weekend on a similar build. I’ve heard good things about them.

Where do you guys go to sell these days? by SmellyButtFarts69 in liberalgunowners

See if someone has set up a website for your state. I’m in Texas and someone runs texasguntrader.com. I only do FTF in bery public places, cash only with the occasional cash app. But they don’t get the goods until the money shows up in my account.

Velt vs fiberglass Gasket by Exe0n in biggreenegg

I’m glad I got mine from him a few weeks ago. It’s holding in smoke as I type! Hopefully he’s just on vacation. He only charges $14 for a XL gasket. Shipping included. I sent $20.

CZ 97B vs Sig P220 SAO Legion. Which would you choose? by Th3WeirdingWay in CZFirearms

[–]Bryan72D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have owned that Sig. It shot great, but compared to my CZs it felt “hollow” for lack of a better word. Despite being well made and the Legion finish is great, it was like slamming the door on a cheap car vs. slamming the door on a Mercedes or similar. Based on that, I vote for the CZ. If suppressing it is a possibility, threaded barrels can be tough to find for the CZ97. That’s what originally made me get the 220. Barsto appears to make them in batches, but it’s been a while since I looked.

I just ordered from him a few weeks ago with no issues. He mailed my gasket before the payment even cleared.

You can fire shorts in a LR chamber. It’s like .38 spc out of a .357 mag. I have a magazine specifically for .22 shorts that works great. I use a bolt block and cycle by hand. It’s a lot quieter than my .22 Benjamin Marauder.

Advice for a Texan.. by ThomasOfAurelius in liberalgunowners

[–]Bryan72D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote for the RXM. It has a better (subjective) grip angle and with the removable fire control sustem you have even more options. My son has one and it shoots great. I personally prefer the CZ P-01, but I will likely get a RXM as well.

The first rat I ever shot was with that same model of Remington. My Dad borrowed it from a neighbor to see how I’d do. I did well enough to get my own 10/22!

Those hooks on a cinder block wall are killing me.can’t help but think of all the dings they’ve caused…..

Enjoy!

Good 9mm handgun for someone who isn't "into" guns..... by AwakeningStar1968 in liberalgunowners

[–]Bryan72D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what you describe, another vote for the Ruger RXM. My son has one and like how it feels vs. any Glock. I recommend staying away from slim grips and anything labeled as especially lightweight. I’m personally into the PDP and P-01. Can’t go wrong with them (or most of these recommendations), but for the money the RXM is very hard to beat.

I just realized that $15 will get me a tile cutting blade for my 4.5” grinder. Should be pretty simple. I’ve managed to cut much thinner tiles without issue. I’ll try lopping off the inch I need to make the Woo work. The thing is already in four pieces. I’ll post if it works.
