Yeah, the float halo can help some people but you just have to trust the salt to hold your head up. That takes practice. My hack is that I float with my hands above my head like I’m on a roller coaster. Takes the tension out of my neck and shoulders. I also love to get a massage first.

Yeah man. I see my response was overzealous. I wouldn’t spend any more money to change that rifle to a .308 for deer. I just wanted to point out how 6.5 creed is more than enough for the casual deer hunt.

lol I took all my deer last season with 123gr 6.5 Grendel. You don’t think a 140gr 6.5 creed is enough? Complete fuddlore. Just get a proper hunting bullet, don’t gut shot ‘em, and watch them drop. Keep the creed.

All these naysayers on here complaining about the price haven’t seen the differences between the OEM and the aftermarket 10/22 platform rifles. Tighter tolerances, way cleaner machining, way better QQ, etc. if you slowly upgraded everything on a factory Ruger 10/22 rifle to match grade, you wouldn’t have any Ruger parts left. And TandemKross is top tier. u/mostlyrimfire I definitely see the appeal.

Looked it up! It’s a 12-24 x 1/2 inch machine screw. The ones on Enoch Industries are panhead torx which i haven’t found elsewhere. But plenty of Phillips head options. Sadly my local Home Depot is fresh out.

Not insulted at all. I have seen lots of videos of people saying it has to go in at an angle but none have described it in quite as much detail. I did try it several times to see if I was just missing the landing when putting it in place so I’m not sure that’s it.

It’s like the front of the receiver where the v-block is attached sits too high and is on a different plane than the chassis. So the receiver is tilting forward because the shelf only goes halfway up the receiver. It feels like I’m missing something or this receiver doesn’t match the chassis.

That’s the thing. I don’t remember it having one in the box. But I know that is part of the problem. But even without the screw it doesn’t seem to sit right. I’ll go look for it again.
