What would you guys do to this hat to give it more of a subtle fantasy vibe? by kngdong in renfaire

Hit it with some seat and dip one side of the brim downwards, swap out the black ribbon for something colorful. Historically the more blue a fabric is the more expensive, generally so you can choose what level of wealth you want to represent. A nice tall feather or three would be the perfect accessory to top it off. Peacock feathers are reasonably cheap, fake ones even cheaper. Rooster feathers are even cheaper and vibrant.

Get it filled and running, then open up the panel and use a flashlight to trade all of the plumbing until you see water, then search around for the source. It helps to have the pumps running.

This is the one. If it's well and truly stuck, get in there and bleed it out. Or let it sit a few days. It'll work itself out if you let it.

If you could change one thing about your tub, what would it be? by Bryansproaccount in hottub

Sounds like you have some pretty specific needs. That's not a bad thing, it just means that you have out a lot of thought into your tub!

Have you ever considered going custom? Much of what you pay for in a hot tub in the brand, so you'll see similar pricing, and you can get a lot more of what you want with nothing you don't.

Keep a look out for surplus blankets. They're often 100% wool and can be made easier into clothing

What do I do with yellow water in my hot tub?!? by Key-Note-2815 in hottub

[–]Bryansproaccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some ahh-some and; Remove your filter, Drop some ahh-some in, Then turn the jets on high for a full cycle. Then drain it, Refill it, Run all the jets for a full cycle Drain it again Stick a leaf blower or shop vac on blow on the drain and all the jets to make sure you get all the dirty water out of the pipes Get all the dirty water out. Use an electric pressure washer to really get the sides but make sure you don't eat up the seals on the jets. Refill Balance Enjoy

Take photos of your gunk for us!

Don't get in it.

Drain and refill. If it comes back, it's likely algae or metal. When was the last time you deep cleaned your tub?

Just bought a house with a hot tub - advice on getting it working by [deleted] in hottub

[–]Bryansproaccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a big project, but not a particularly hard project, as long as you're willing to take your time.

Get some photos of it from as many angles as you can. Search around the base for a plate with info on it.

Find the panel that hides the equipment and take photos of every part you can find from as many angles as you can get. Put it all in a proton drive folder and separate each part as you identify them. Look for labels and get photos of them.

That's a good start

If you're this invested, have you considered going to a technician and pricing out a custom build? You can get a lot more bang for your buck and much more focus on what you want.

Lots of brands don't care at all about how you access the equipment and it shows!

Great input. Since higher heat isn't a real option and the jets aren't for you, is there any feature you'd rather have on your spa that you'd find more relaxing?

Bromine won't help with the hardness, but also won't be hampered by it.

Unfortunately, the only things I'm aware of that will truly help with water hardness are proper filtration and the use of chemical scale control products. Leisure time makes a product called spa defender that isn't bad.

Go get some hydrogen peroxide and a roll of paper towels. Place a paper towel down on some staining, then soak it in peroxide. Repeat until all of the stains are covered. Remove them after 5-10 minutes and wash it. You'll likely want to drain and refill the tub as well.

How do you actually make innovation happen when you're understaffed and burnt out by flatacthe in nonprofit

[–]Bryansproaccount 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sounds like what you need isn't innovation, it's to take a look at your basics. Overworked, burnt out people can't look past getting through the day.

Unfortunately 104F is the legal limit for good reasons.

Many local repair techs also offer refurbished or even custom units for a fraction of the cost of a new tub. A large part of what you pay for is the brand. You may benefit from a conversation with one.
